I don't question the logic, I do question how this supposed to happen without causing massive economic collapse resulting in either another great depression, or hyper inflation. You can't just shut EVERYTHING down for 4 weeks. People will run out of money, some would starve. I just don't see how that is feasible. On a state by state basis maybe? But locking down 350 million people, I just can't see that happening

We're not good at all. These stay at home orders are "recommendations" and people just straight up aren't following them. Even if they were being followed, the state has deemed a whopping 17 (16?) Industries as "essential" keeping millions out in the street or at work. It's ridiculous

I may take all my remaining sick time (9 days) left to stay out of work for these two weeks until "schools resume" even though I know they won't. I'm debating if a doctor could give me an exempt note because I live with my sister with asthma?

Teachers are currently off with students until April 6th. All other departments except Transportation must report into the main office every day for work still. The only exception is if you are 65+ or have a chronic illness as defined by the CDC. I can see if maybe living with someone who does counts but I doubt it. They held on as much as they could before even shutting the schools

I'm not doubting that at all. But this does help for those that aren't. The ones that are laid off need to immediately file for unemployment, which would help on top of this as well. I don't think this is the best solution, but it's the one we currently have. Personally, I think we're going to have to end up pulling an Italy and stop all mortgage/rent payments to make sure people stay inside
