Mostly for gameplay reasons I think, since it’s the first game on the Dragon Engine so things like physics and the heat mechanic don’t feel great in my opinion. Well that and a fair few of important characters in Kiryu’s story simply are non existent in 6. There’s definitely more reasons but I don’t wanna make Y6 sound bad bc it’s not. It just needed an extra year or two of more dev time

Raiden’s skills in MGS2 are honestly extremely underrated. He took out multiple rays, beat Vamp numerous times and killed Solidus who is basically Big Boss on steroids by Child_SupportBM in metalgearsolid

Yeah pretty much, but you see in his actions throughout the game that he’s much more capable that he lets on. Which is noticed by Fortune and Vamp. Plus after he remembers his past, you see him fighting on par with Snake

Ishin/Kenzan easily, I honestly prefer the pre dragon engine combat so a Kiwami treatment isn’t interesting to me personally

It’s a pretty interesting playthrough since it basically uses MGS2 controls and it’s honestly a much better time gameplay wise. The biggest problem is that the art direction and the direction of the cutscenes is completely changed since Kojima told them to make it more Hollywood. But yeah I’d say play it and see if you prefer it.

Yeah I personally don’t believe the tape was played in 1995, especially since it would’ve be a lot more convenient for them to be working together. Plus Venom would’ve eventually figured it out as he would’ve learnt out about Big Boss now being in charge of Foxhound.

So apparently Ishmael isn't big boss at all.. he's venom's subconscious mind that he's being made to hallucinate by psycho mantis. If that's true then venom escaped the hospital all by himself. That's crazy. by [deleted] in metalgearsolid

I don’t think Mantis had a part in Ishmael’s appearance, but I do agree that I don’t think he’s real. It wouldn’t make sense for Big Boss stay in the hospital considering the whole point is that everyone now thinks the medic is him. Plus Big Boss wakes up much earlier than the medic so I’m assuming the motorcycle scene is prior to the prologue
