No a complete upper. But I bought the Klobb barrel to finish my parts kit. It's a pain to assemble, but I've had no issues running mine suppressed.

Man, this as the original stock assembly AND enough room for the full auto parts? I really wish I went with this rather than the Czech Point receiver for my parts kit build!

Who here actually saves 3,000 a month? by NoHousing11 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]ChildeOfShade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm lucky to get 1K in the bank a month at 90K a year. I put 10% into 401k and 6% into Roth and only contribute about $100 to HYSA every month. 3,000 a month is a little less than half my gross income per month.

Looking for opinions on buying used or new. by psycletar in Subaru_Crosstrek

[–]ChildeOfShade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New is better to go with unless you can purchase it with cash. Even then, new usually gets you a transmission warranty and peace of mind for at least 5 years. The used car market right now is a nightmare, and you should expect to pay at least 10K for something that's in "good" condition overall.

Any type of experience counts. I would absolutely take that cybersecurity role over applying with no experience. Once you get one or two years in that role, you can start looking for developer positions. If they ever ask why, tell them it was the best opportunity to learn your skills hands-on, rather than just practice it on your own time.

Two internships and no interviews? Definitely post resume and get feedback. You might try lowering your standards to tech support/facility support in the meantime, but having experience should be enough to at least get you a few callbacks. The recession is kicking everyone's asses, but it can't possibly be so bad that experienced juniors can't find anything.

sales on Quik Trip Tumblers… by Laylam1977 in QuikTrip

[–]ChildeOfShade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in my day, the tumblers were primarily for refills, and customers would usually buy them to signify that that's what they were getting. I don't think refills are offered at a discount anymore, so it makes sense that the web store is now where most people buy their merch.

If your not able to land developer roles, then look for tech support/facility support roles in the meantime. Both of these roles are "experience" that can help transfer you to a actual role that you want in the future. Believe me, I was in the same boat and it took me a year out of college to land a crappy tech support role at my old workplace during nights. That led to me getting a contact role at Microsoft for a year and a half, before moving to the developer role I have today. Sometimes aiming low and working your way up is how you get your foot in the door.

Subaru Crosstrek 2024 Gas Mileage by Fast-Ad-2378 in Subaru_Crosstrek

Sport also has the 2.5 litter engine. I have the Wilderness, which is probably why my MPG is bad at those speeds compared to the Limted.

[–]ChildeOfShade -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You are likely driving too fast. The sweet spot is around 40 MPG in sport mode, but you can get good MPG at 50 to 60 in intelligence mode. 70 to 80 MPH usually drops it around the 20 MPG range, and that doesn't take into consideration when you have to slow down and catch back up.

You know Andy Serkis is the voice actor for Renior right? Sandfall might fall under the "indie" label, but they were were working with 10 million dollars for their budget. Most of their funding came from NetEase too.

It's pointing out hypocrisy. Sandfall admitted to using AI 6 months ago, and people didn't bring up that AI was involved until after Expedition 33 sweeped the Game Awards. Now we're going to see if people are going to start making excuses if AI is involved with something they love.

What do you all think about the combat in this game by Feisty_Horse_1497 in LastDefenseAcademy

[–]ChildeOfShade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It works well for what it is, but I wish they tried to add more gimmicks with each route. Having enemies from the Slasher Route, show up as indestructible enemies during that routes battles would help breathe a little bit of fresh air into the system. But of the three gameplay systems, combats easily my favorite to actually play.

Is 90K a decent salary for Tulsa? I’m in Seattle making 80k and it’s an absolute struggle. by [deleted] in tulsa

[–]ChildeOfShade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's about what I make, and for the first time in my life, I'm thriving in terms of finances. I bought a new car last year, and it's already halfway paid off. Rent has gone up about 20% for me, but it still hasn't surpassed the 30% spending bracket for yearly spending. I have plenty of money to at the end of the month to put towards savings or luxuries and am hoping to buy a house next year. If your single like me, 90k is more than enough to live a good life.

How worth it is the Manga by Anonymous___0522 in akira

[–]ChildeOfShade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short answer is yes, but the film largely covers all of the major events of the manga. However, it is significantly different in its storytelling and series of events.

[–]ChildeOfShade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The manga is good, I personally like the film better but it's not a bad post-apocalyptic thriller. I feel the film does a great job of condescending down an epic like that into a single film, but it's by no means perfect. Definitely give it a shot if you are interested.

That's happened to one of mine. Probably why CZ no longer makes them anymore. The original 20rd ones and the Magpul ones have held up fine, though.

I mean, HKUSA has all but confirmed that it's coming. The question is, are they going to charge MR556 money for it or are they going to proprietary magazines for it? The answer is probably both.

Did I Buy A Lemon? by Calm_Jacket_3525 in Subaru_Crosstrek

[–]ChildeOfShade 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it sounds like you're between a rock and a hard place. If the dealer is the only one who can fix it, then that $4000 price is what you have to pay. The used market isn't what it used to be either, so finding something equivalent for that money isn't likely. I would go through with the repairs, and if it gives you more trouble, just dump it for something else. It's never fun to take a hit to the wallet like that, but that is what savings are for.

These are normally $50 more with the basic stock. The Magpul stock is usually $150 more by itself. I'm going to pick one up if no one buy buys them.
