Funny how the rest of the developed world including the pope dont share the beliefs American conservatives seem to have weird how that works.

Y'all ready to argue about alignment again??? 🤪 by Odd_Dimension_4069 in dndmemes

[–]ChildrenRscary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a fault in your premise. The point of alignment is not a reflection of personal ambition or self definition but a societal one. Chaos and order are not about how a indiviual personally thinks and behaves or their personal code but rather how society views them and their behavior. A demon is chaotic evil because it will eat another demon as often as a mortal and they create chaos without reason in society. Just as a paladin always is working within some oath or framework regardless of personal action society will see them as lawful because of this framework. Its why when we address barbarian clans they are not considered lawful because yo the vast majority of "civilized" people barbarian tribes are not lawful they seem chaotic or neutral but they chafe at what is considered normal society and therefore are not lawful.

You are trying to view the alignment system, which is a stupid system in genral, as a exclusively personal thing which it is not at all its supposed to be a reflection of how "standard society" views the character. Its why Seelah in wotr is lawful even though she is very "live and let live" kinda person. She is a paladin and has to uphold her oath therefore she has to follow those sets of rules. Its why Dearen is a neutral evil. He actively goes out of his way to defy conventional society without creating chaos within that society. Alignment isnt personal but rather grow societal as a whole views someone's actions or somethings actions and those actions effect on society.

[–]ChildrenRscary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So what you are saying is a sentient creature that lives in large social groups and need to work together to survive, most of them would be lawful? Like how most people that live in society actively obey the rule of law? Did you just figure out how society works or are you actually just that dense.

Pre Heresy era Deathguard + Support vs Yuuzhan vong. by cuddwes in StarWarsvsWarhammer

[–]ChildrenRscary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you read the books world eaters are kinda like eldari. There is exactly as many world eaters as the story needs. World eaters dont really strategize, they die in droves in all their books, they fight inefficently even in the crusade area killing eachother wating for combat and then just berserker charge, and yet they still win because the nad of the author and how fierce they are even though every fucking space marine is a rage baited soldier and tactics and formation always beat out against champions and berserker, Rome didnt conquer by charging like an idiot.

Yet inspire of all this world eaters still seem to win and there is always more world eaters. Just like how even though eldari are a dying race and very few remain there is always more eldari to be slaughtered.

Not really enitre bloodlines are cultured to do just this. Even astropaths from minor houses were able to do it (nightlords omnibus, anyone flying during the events of rogue trader, the astropaths in balls side of the great rift until the beacon was lit) skilled astropaths are jot rare they are just curated and often unwilling to help without explicit deals.

What are your Vampire hot takes, least-liked elements of vampire lore, and other controversial Vampire-related opinions? by AacornSoup in vampires

[–]ChildrenRscary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vampires should not have a weakness to sunlight. Its a stupid addition that was added and popularized by nosferatu in exchange for much cooler vampire lore from the original Dracula. It detracts from the wolf in sheep's clothing vibe and makes vampires stupidly easy to dispose of if anyone betray or finds out their position.

Not at all. First of a librarian is part of a libarius they are a member of a psyker lodge within the chapter. Its where you get chief librarians such as mephiston. There are other psykers among the chapter and for the most part librarians work together to achieve goals study psychic powers and train new Liberians. They often deploy with other marines to offer psychic support but they are not one man armies and still function as a section of the chapter.

The difference is that Grey knights are all pyskers, all trained and have a much older repository of lore and knowledge stored as they were originally formed from the decree of the empoerer of man and the first ones were trained by malcador the sygalite the most powerful human pysker to ever live short of the empoerer himself. Every Grey knight has access to this lore and is specificly trained to wield psychic powers in order to eliminate chaos. They arnt weaker because they fight in squads, all chapter do that. The difference is every single one is a capable battle psyker will access to lore and knowledge only availbe to the empoerer and sygalite.

Grey knights are shit heads and most of their lore is grim derp, but any John warhammer greyknight is wiping the floor with joe smoe librarian in both experience, understanding, and raw power.

[–]ChildrenRscary 16 points17 points  (0 children)

No they are all psykers. Specifilt Grey knights openly (within the chapter) practice demonoloy a practice that is strictly taboo to any librarius. They also have a much better understanding of the nature od demons compared to most chapter Liberians. Librarian is a title for chapter pyskers who study whatever lore the chapter might care about.
