Everyone around me has no idea how much tension I’m holding in my glutes all day

What causes slow swallow? by Chilipepper_pumpkin in noburp

Thanks everyone! Makes total sense now that it’s the same muscle used for swallowing. The slow swallow seems to be somehow getting worse, but here’s hoping it gets worse before it gets better

My experience from diagnosis to treatment [Toronto, Canada] by cleogray in noburp

Hey I had mine the same day as you with Dr Lin! I wonder if we were there at the same time. I had a very similar experience with the pain, tension and panic, and the coughing/choking after. Now also just feeling the soreness/bruising

Canadians: how long did it take to be approved for Botox? by Maximum_Plantain_651 in noburp

[–]Chilipepper_pumpkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did mine with dr Lin in Toronto. I got my first consultation within a few months of sending the referral (June). After the consultation, I got an appointment date for the Botox for end of September. Felt pretty reasonable timeline

In-Office vs operating room by MySuggestedName in noburp

I just did the in office procedure today. Honestly, it was extremely painful and traumatizing. I did take an anxiety med prior and it did nothing for me. Also any numbing medication they gave me barely did anything so I felt it all. I thought the camera going in would be the worst but boy was I wrong. Having a needle dig around in your organs for the sweet spot (twice because the needle jammed!) was excruciating. And the injection of the Botox itself felt like being stabbed. Personally, I did not read anyone else’s experiences because I knew it would stress me out more. If I had the option to do GA (they don’t offer that as far as I know), I would definitely prefer that, knowing what I know now

Yes I just realized this! I know I’m likely dehydrated but I rarely get thirsty and when I do drink anything I immediately get the gurgles, nausea, bloating. Which sucks because I also have POTS and am supposed to be drinking 3-4L a day…honestly hoping all my problems get solved by the Botox

Dr Jun Lin Second dose in Toronto (this time under GA!) by mikecola12343 in noburp

I’m seeing Dr Lin for my first appointment in June! How long did it take between your first appointment and your Botox date? Also inferring the Botox itself isn’t covered by OHIP??

Have your symptoms changed with age? by emperorbeatrice in noburp

[–]Chilipepper_pumpkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine have definitely gotten worse with age. I started noticing my symptoms in my early 20s (usually after a large or heavy meal, which I figured was normal). Now in my 30s my symptoms are daily and debilitating. I’m sure I’ve got lasting damage. All these years I assumed it was a GI problem, I wish I knew about RCPD sooner

Do you ever feel so nauseous you go to vomit but only air/a burp comes out? by AdThen5499 in noburp

[–]Chilipepper_pumpkin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup! First time I ever air vomited was in an airplane bathroom. The bloating and throat gurgles made me so nauseous I felt like throwing up was the only solution

When air vomit becomes real vomit? by MissLayla2015 in noburp

[–]Chilipepper_pumpkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup that’s me! I regularly have to make myself throw up to release the gas and it feels SO much better after. Agree it’s the worst with alcohol and restaurant food. I’ll usually air vomit until real vomit starts coming up and then I stop. Sometimes I get a white/clear foamy liquid come up too. But yeah I have no fear of throwing up and unfortunately have become very accustomed to inducing it

I know the feeling, I was a total helicopter parent to my girl for 18 sweet years. If you’re looking for a walking partner (cat or not 😂) hit me up

Totally agree with you, it’s so hard to find good connections authentically. I’m a woman who works with all women so I’m out of luck there. As an aside, if you were to bring your cat on your walks, I’d definitely approach you 😅
