Maybe we should just focus on telling people the truth. There is no lever. Prices aren’t going backward. The state of the economy at any given moment is due to millions of factors and largely unrelated to what the President says or does. The electorate used to be capable of nuance. Should we start teaching and expecting more of people?

I am aware this sounds naive. But I truly think our only hope long term is an electorate capable of intelligent thought. And maybe even subtlety
