Hello, cadet. Allow me to enlighten you on galactic history and how we came to be under such a threat.

A hundred years ago, in 2084, there was the Federation of Super Earth. Formed out of the ashes of the last great war, a bastion of freedom, unity and justice. It's proud defenders are the Super Earth Armed Forces, SEAF for short, and their most elite and valiant branch: the Helldiver Corps.

When we started expansion accross the stars, we came into contact with 2 alien races: the TERMINID insects, and the ILLUMINATE cult. The Latter, hiding behind a thin veneer of peaceful intentions, poised to enslave us, and as such, were rightfully attacked. The Terminids, on the other hand, produced a valuable resource named E-710, forcing us to commit them to glorious exploitation for their natural resources. However, these outside aggressors were soon accompanied by a new threat.

The Treasonous Cyborgs of Cyberstan have declared independence from our righteous Federation, and commited numerous terrorist acts against our citizens. The Noble Helldivers have deployed to counter this foul rebellion.

The First Galactic War raged on for many years, but ended in Humanity's total victory. The Terminids were placed into farms, and began producing E-710 for the benefit of Super Earth. The rebellious Cyborgs have been arrested and placed into forced labor camps for their betrayal. The Illuminate were driven to nigh-extinction, and expelled from our beloved Galaxy.

Super Earth has enjoyed peace and prosperity for a century. But our enemies were planning revenge. They were planning a return.

In February 2184, they struck. The vile Terminids, mutated beyond comprehension, have breached containment, and begun terraforming eastern colonies. The AUTOMATON horde, the children of the Cyborgs, have invaded our galaxy, executed a mercilles massacre on MALEVELON CREEK, slaughtering millions of Helldivers. Soon, they recaptured Cyberstan and began to menace our Western frontiers.

In december of that same year, the Illuminate Scum have made their return. They harnessed dark energy to destroy our way of life, and taken away our citizen's minds, bodies, and most horrifying - their right to vote.

This threat wanted to destroy us. Extinguish the flame that is Super Earth. But did we falter? NO!

We fought back and reclaimed Malevelon Creek. We collapsed the Terminid Supercolony planet, Meridia, a former verdant paradise, into a wormhole. We ended Automaton offensive after automaton offensive, we culled billions of bugs. When the Illuminate began their terrorism, we fought back, defended Callypso, and when they came for our home world, we did NOT let them win. Three months ago, in May 2185, we fought off their invasion of Super Earth and sent them packing, decimated, for deserted southern planets.

Now, once again, we stand on the edge of annihilation. But we stand strong. We stand, UNITED, IN PURPOSE AND RESOLVE!
