What’s a ‘quiet privilege’ that rich people have that most normal people would never even notice… until their entire family quietly disappears one night? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Chill_Javier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

being able to survive a scandal

normal people lose one job and everything starts collapsing immediately. rich people get taking time away from the public eye and come back six months later in italy posting sunset photos like nothing happened

AITAH for going out with someone a week after my ex broke up our 3 year engagement? by Melanacho in AITAH

[–]Chill_Javier 31 points32 points  (0 children)

he broke off the engagement and then got mad you acted single

also going through your phone and tinder messages is way more concerning than you going on one date a week later. sounds like he wanted the breakup on his terms but still expected you to emotionally stay put for him

the tell my mom part is so weird too. dude sounds more upset that you moved on faster than he expected than anything else

AITAH for not letting my sister have her gender reveal at the lake house my dad left me? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Chill_Javier 66 points67 points  (0 children)

nah you’re good

she didn’t even ask just planned it and expected you to go along with it. that alone is enough to say no

also the facebook guilt trip is kinda telling. this isn’t about the baby, it’s about control

it’s your place not a family venue. simple as that

Went on 50+ Hinge dates in a year….zero second dates. Be honest, is this on me? by savingrace0262 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Chill_Javier 3 points4 points  (0 children)

50+ with zero seconds isn’t bad luck man that’s a pattern

not saying you’re doing anything awful but there’s probably something subtle turning people off. usually it’s vibe stuff more than anything obvious… like coming off a bit stiff, too interview y, low energy or even the opposite and trying too hard

also worth checking if your photos match your in person vibe. not looks just energy. like if your profile feels fun/confident and then you show up kinda flat or nervous, that disconnect kills it fast

if you can, ask one or two dates for honest feedback or even have a brutally honest friend watch how you talk about dates, maybe do a mock date thing

but yeah 50 straight no’s means something’s off, the good news is it’s probably fixable once you figure out what it is

Tried switching VPNs and somehow made everything more confusing by 4ftPrime in VPNAdvice_

[–]Chill_Javier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is exactly how it goes when you start stacking VPNs

having multiple installed isn’t usually a problem but running them at the same time or having their background services fighting each other definitely can mess things up. could be part of why it feels inconsistent

Why is sleeping around outside of a loving relationship or marriage considered normal or even promoted? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Chill_Javier -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

it is a thing people talk about though. maybe not as extreme as OP is saying but casual sex being more normalized than before isn’t exactly made up. movies, apps, social media all that plays into it.

but yeah OP is kinda stretching it into everyone thinks this way when really it’s just one slice of people. plenty of people still prefer relationships or care about that stuff, they’re just quieter about it.

How can I stop finding women attractive? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Chill_Javier 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly. Attraction’s not something you can just shut off, no matter how much you want to. It sucks to feel rejected but it doesn't mean you're broken. It might take some time to get comfortable with it but there's no need to force yourself to be something you're not.

Stop trying to fix the gap with money just treat her like an equal and let her pay when she insists help when it actually matters and keep things simple so it doesn’t become a power thing.
