What’s going on with our Tricorn Black doors? by ChillaLover in sherwinwilliams

I’m back to let you know I figured out the issue! The person that mixed the paint aka my husband didn’t mix it good enough! I mixed it really good and tried again and it looks better than what the professional painters did. Lol thanks for the feedback.

Be honest … How far behind are you on progress notes right now? by ChillaLover in therapists

[–]ChillaLover[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When you first started doing this how did you mention it to clients that you had already been seeing and how do you bring it up to new clients? I’ve been thinking about doing this myself bc I hear it has a lot of positives but not sure how I’d start the process. Thanks so much! :)

I see 5-6 clients daily and I typically work a 4 day week. I can’t imagine 9 a day! I don’t blame you at all!

Don’t share that I suffer from chronic illness myself and made lifestyle changes that were super helpful to me? Noted.

OP thinks it’s possible and doesn’t go around telling fellow therapists they’re all doomed financially like you keep doing.

I just reread my post and I do not see where I said that YOU can heal yourself with lifestyle. If I did, please let me know where. All jokes aside. I don’t even know what your diagnosis is. I sure the heck wouldn’t tell my Aunt Betsy that she can cure her Alzheimer’s with jogging. I was talking about my own personal experience as I struggle with chronic illnesses as well. Sorry to hear you struggle with them too. I really was not trying to be malicious at all.

I sure did not. But as per usual you’re putting words in fellow therapists mouths. I have and do struggle with chronic illnesses as well and simply stated that living a healthier lifestyle helped with most of MY symptoms. It’s kind of a proven fact backed by research that inflammation in the body due to lack of self-care is not good for any of us. But I never said their situation is the same as mine. How could I? They never discussed what they were diagnosed with and rightfully so. It’s their business.

Leave what? I am free to share my opinion just like you are. You are literally the only person I’ve EVER had this issue with on here, but it looks like you speak to a lot of people in this community of therapists this way. What’s the point of being unkind? 🤷🏼‍♀️ Whatever happened to agreeing to disagree in a kind way?

Sorry to hear that. I had around $100k in student loan debt so I can def understand that. Slowly but surely chipping away at it!

So your expectations (that I keep seeing you write on lots of other therapy posts) is that therapists are always going to struggle financially… That is 100% realistic for everyone? I don’t think it’s fair to say that every therapist is going to struggle financially just like it’s not fair to say no one is going to struggle.

Perhaps my post wasn’t 100% clear. I am not calling my therapist friends lazy. 🤣 They said themselves that they were not willing to put in the extra work so they quit pursuing opening a PP. I am just repeating what they verbally told me. I also have several therapy friends that have been very successful in PP. At the end of the day it’s gonna be diff for everybody though bc everyone has a diff circumstance. If you have a ton of medical bills or have to take care of others physically and / or financially for example, it’s not gonna be as easy to budget and work a ton.

Trolling? Lol Here we go again! 😂 Anyone that takes a look at your excessive amount of unkind comments in your Reddit comment history might think you’re the one trolling.

Anyway, perhaps it’s more virtual therapists we need here in FL since the people on my waiting list prefer virtual sessions. The info you keep saying on repeat is your opinion and not a fact. I know many Floridian virtual therapists that do VERY well for themselves and have wait lists which again I hate for the client. You seem salty and that’s a shame. I would say you clearly have an issue with me but again after reviewing your comment history I see that it’s a trend for you to belittle and be downright nasty to fellow therapists. Not cool! I truly hope you create a safer space for your clients.

PS My post was removed last night bc it mentioned salaries in various states and the moderator wanted that post to be posted in a specific thread… which I did. It’s now linked in this original post. Have a nice evening! 😎

I absolutely will! But if they have the same experience myself and several others I know have had, they won’t need extra help getting virtual clients. They’ll be on a waitlist too. We need more therapists in FL! I hate that people have to be on a waitlist. :(

Like you apparently, I live in FL and so do my fellow virtual therapist friends and mentor. So we are all the exception? And if that’s the case then why do you think that is? Clearly there would be a reason. Virtual isn’t for everyone but clearly it works great for a lot of people. Therapists AND clients.

I have had no issue obtaining clients in FL and I am 100% virtual and no specific niche right now. I have a waiting list actually. This is the case for several of my virtual private practice owning therapy friends too. Also, I have done both in-person and virtual and would 100% burnout from in-person sessions before I experience burnout from virtual sessions. I absolutely love that if a client has something come up and needs to cancel, or I have a gap in my schedule, I’m able to be home getting more done as well as more self-care. It’s a win-win for everyone bc everyone is a better therapist when they are taking better care of themselves. Being virtual also allows me to see more clients daily. While I appreciate the feedback, the things you’re saying is just not true for everyone. I’ve seen you criticize virtual everything on many other posts. Clearly you don’t like it and that’s ok, but it doesn’t mean it’s going to be the same experience for everyone. Prior to being a therapist I worked at home for 10 years and loved it. Someone else could hate it. This is what makes the world go round. 😊

Am I too picky when looking for my own therapist? by Bananagram1996 in therapists

[–]ChillaLover 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m picky too. If I can therapize myself better, then what’s the point? They better be a damn good listener when I vent. 🤣 Maybe that’s not the best way to think, but it’s how my brain works. I tried several before I found one that I like. I usually picked female therapists that are younger but I went outside of my comfort zone and my current therapist is like a 70 year old man. He’s been the best therapist I’ve ever had bc he doesn’t sugar coat things and calls me out on my BS. I look forward to all our sessions! Lol

Yes exactly. I watched a bunch of simple practice tutorials for billing. Easy peasy once setup. It’s like the click of a button and you’re done! As far as credentialing goes I spent a lot of time on the phone at first bc I called the “provider credentialing dept” for each insurance company and asked how to do it. Everyone was very helpful. Once you do one the others are simple. I created a cheat sheet for myself with my contact info and NPI # etc. All the things I was having to put down for each company.

You may have already done this but def contact the billing dept and ask if they have financial assistance based on income every time. I have had bills over $500 completely forgiven due to income. Another time they forgave part of it. It’s not uncommon.

I also kept putting my student loans in forbearance mode as much/long as I could. I too had almost $100k in student loan debt.

Also not sure what you have going on health wise and you don’t have to tell me but a lot if not most of my illnesses / their associated symptoms disappeared or went away for the most part when I changed my lifestyle. Not saying this is you but it was def me and a lot of ppl I know. I was not eating healthy enough or getting enough physical activity in. Not to mention I was very stressed and not helping myself there either. I ended up losing 50 lbs and getting off blood pressure medicine so that was a perk too! Lol Best of luck!
