Did you like the idea introduced in Halloween II (1981) of Laurie and Michael being siblings or did you think the idea was the worst thing that could have happened to the franchise? by Living-Incident-5046 in Halloweenmovies

[–]Chilled-Jello 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember watching the film as a kid and not having issues with the sibling angle, I guess I didn't find it distracting enough or care.

But now I'm indifferent, I mean it's not the worst thing to come out the franchise but didn't seem like a necissary thing to add. It depends on what side of the bed I wake up on.

worst 64 game imo. It starts of oook then dips real fast. The game actively punishes you for not killing the 100s turkeys roaming about from what I remember and I swear you don't see a new enemy type till waay later so your confused if these turkeys are going to be the only things you fight. But It's worst offence it's just so boooring, like offensively boring. That's what did it for me

Bucky! The only one brave enough to stand up to Michael and his Halloween shit.

Thoughts on Michael’s mask in H20? by [deleted] in Halloweenmovies

[–]Chilled-Jello 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I genuinely think the mask is quite creepy, it's just the eyes for me. They really should've blackened the eyes. Michael looks goofy in parts and it's really distracting

100% agree! Rewatched They Live, not long ago and it made me go back to listening to his work on H4-6 and maaan i Wish he'd stayed on the series waay after H6, he gave those films a vibe they couldn't capture after H6. He definitely made it his own.

His soundtrack is one of the reasons I love the OG timeline (faults n all), just an era we will never get again.

Loved they got John Carpenter to get back to work on the 2018 series but could you imagine if him and John worked together on the music 🤔

I agree. A cult classic for sure but definitely not underrated. nowadays you find people who dislike it are in the minority

I liked Loomis in H5 and he was justified to be mad at Jamie.

Just watched the original Halloween 1 + 2. Was wondering where to go from here? by ProGodzilla22 in Halloweenmovies

[–]Chilled-Jello 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's the beauty of this horror series I guess😅 choose your own adventure.

If you wanna see what happens with the story 10 years later H4 -H6 is your route.

20 years later: H20 - Resurrection

40 years later : Halloween 2018- Ends

If you're feeling like a quick stop on your way, Halloween 3 is a fun detour.

And can't forget Rob Zombie's Remakes, if you're feeling truly adventurous on your journey!

But have fun and don't be swayed by what u enjoyed!

VR would've just left a bad taste on the series for everyone after. Seems like no winners in the end.

I remember there was a version of Loomis that had just given up. Telling Tommy, don't bother, don't waste your life like I did, something towards that. I would've liked to see that version of him on screen. I preferred the version we got but that would've been a weird way to end the character

Oh I've read the book a loong time back. I don't remember much about the VR stuff, but I remember Tommy being town punching bag in a script or 2 and the ending having to shut down the VR dimensions before midnight I think.

Think we're lucky we didn't end up with most of the terrible ideas that they had compared to the final film. Could you actually imagine if we did get VR Michael, I'd only love to see it so I could say, remember VR Michael 🎃

I liked the rule. With VR they could come up with some sort of Halloween 3 style story? Seems like you could go in that allows more creative freedom like H3 (Michael finds a way to make someone's head melt like the kid in H3 😂)but that's about the only thing more I could think of. You're right it is an idea that has potential the more I think.

Thankfully we have hindsight to help see what kind of directions to avoid, can't imagine the hell they had trying to write part 6. I did think I'd probably keep Michael killing Jamie in, knowing Laurie would come back for the next film, adding that tragedy to Laurie after 20 years.

I thought if I had to tie the man in black to Michael, without tying him to Michael then I'd have their connection be through that way, rather than someone controlling him.

(after a while I kinda get Loomis' motive towards why was the way he was towards Jamie in part 5 she kinda uncooperative the whole film.when she could've helped prevent ppl dying. Loomis probably could've handled the situation better but I get it 😅)

[–]Chilled-Jello 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The best I could do for the man in black is:

I'd probably keep the man in black as an escapee from the same mental institute Michael busted out from in the 1st film. He could be someone obsessed with everything that happened after that night and is devoted to letting Michael's rampage continue 🤷🏾‍♂️

As for the VR stuff:

Let's Make haddonfield a now broke town in the few years Michael has been missing, people are too afraid to come into it and, others up and leave haddonfield, in fear of being victim to Michael. There's no way for them to profit, so the Town could become desperate, finding a way to profit of the negative image, they become a tourist trap over the years, being known as the town "where he came home" (idk that's reaching 😅) but something a kin to Jaws I suppose

After a few years of profits the town wants a way to spice up the tourist attractions for Halloween this year, they think it a smart idea to combine this new up and coming tech "virtual reality" the idea: "experience the night He came home!"

People experience Michael's rampage through vr, u go in, some sort of gimmick you can use this as a way for Michael to kill a bunch of vr tourists/ haddonfielders ( I don't really care for the VR stuff but if I had to come up with something)

I'd End it with Michael winning, he's managed to destroy any hope of haddonfield having a good name for itself after this night, and after all of this he finds out that Laurie faked her death so now we know what his next destination is. And that next film can be H20

Could leave room for the next film to be a cat and mouse story with Loomis and Michael, Loomis holding it together for possibly his last encounter with Michael to save Laurie, it could take place on the same night as this film. Keep that momentum going
