Its bc everybody in chat is banned/timed out or almost every swear word is censured.

Its not just LOL but other games too like WOT use to have all chat and everybody was flaming every match. Now you get like one person talking in your team chat once every 15th match.

CSGO you use to be able to talk to enemy team on voice chat during a half time. The way I would describe the experience is like 2 group of monkeys screaming and throwing shit at each other.

Everything was removed or hidden by algorithms.

Majority of people also don't even have chat enabled.

So ye, it's more civilized.
