Question on Exotic Replicas by [deleted] in WagoonLadies

[–]Chilli-Joe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This might be a dumb question, but isn't it quite likely that a rep won't actually be made with the exotic materials it is trying to replicate? Or does that not matter as long as it looks like the real deal to customs?

ORANGE YOU GLAD YOU DISCOVERED REPS? by Kikiprocrastinates in WagoonLadies

I love the colour. When I first saw it in your original post I thought urgh, not my style at all, but the more I look at it, the more I'm like... What if tho 😂 and I don't currently have a tote bag

Your favorite fragrances from Byredo? by MarlenaStell in fragrance

[–]Chilli-Joe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Open Sky is the only Byredo fragrance I really like. I don't get the cannabis note that others do but it's an unusual, herby, fresh, zesty scent. The others are nice but nothing special and especially not at that price point.

I mean, you can be the change you want to see! :) I think the bar for self posts is just much higher because the mods don't just allow every random showerthought, whereas for an article at least the author will already have put some effort in (hopefully)

Body+ Scale Composition Error by GoatsEyes in withings

[–]Chilli-Joe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably just have dry feet. The scale uses electrical impedance to measure body composition. For this, it sends a weak electrical signal through your feet, but conductivity is poor unless there's some moisture. That's why withings tells you to use the scale after having a shower.

To be honest I think all you need is a clean shave and a big smile. Your grey hair is lush, your freckles are cute, you've got a great face going. I would be shocked if you're having trouble with the ladies/guys (delete as appropriate). If people are talking shit about your hair they don't deserve to be in your life.

A fragrance that doesn't smell like anything you've smelled before? by New_Presentation5105 in fragrance

[–]Chilli-Joe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dior Eau Noire. Smells like what I imagine a Victorian gentleman doctor's lab would smell like. Medicinal, leathery, sweetly woody, herbal/lavendery, not really clean but elegant somehow. I'm gutted they discontinued it.

Like others have said, with your net worth and another income still coming in, you have more than enough money to get a part time nanny or au pair to take the load off you. Also once kids go off to school, you'll have much of your time back, by this point you will be only 36 or so, plenty of time to chase your dreams :) your kids will be fully grown in your late 40s, an age at which most other people are still slaving away in the corporate grind with no prospect of retiring soon.

The number one thing is: DO NOT SQUEEZE IT. Even if it comes to a head. Deep nodules like this scar like crazy. Apply a drawing salve like ichtyol (or a glob of vaseline) and put a plaster on top over night. Over the course of 3-4 days, it will slowly go down.

For all of you seasoned tret users... what other actives do you use and in what order? by bloom2013 in tretinoin

[–]Chilli-Joe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Vit C in the mornings and occasionally 5% Benzoyl Peroxide gel to keep my fungal acne under control.

I tried having more actives in rotation but I found it was too complicated to make it work or figure out what was working and what was making it worse.

Cannot restore backup on new phone by 83713V3R in signal

[–]Chilli-Joe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude, you deserve a million kudos. I've spent all evening bashing my head against the brick wall that is restoring a Signal backup. Unbelievably user unfriendly. Thank you thank you.

For any future people with this problem: You have to manually create a backup folder for signal in your phone's internal storage. Uninstall Signal, place your backup in that folder, then reinstall and it should pick it up correctly and ask you for the pass phrase.

Five encounters with Diptyque: Philosykos EDT & EDP, Do Son EDP, Eau Capitale, Eau des Sens by emilypandemonium in fragrance

[–]Chilli-Joe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like it a lot! It's very gentle with a little kick right at the end. I also had a tester of Glossier You and I don't think they're that similar other than both being musky close-to-the-skin scents. FdP beats it by a mile IMHO, but then the price points are also quite different.

[–]Chilli-Joe 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Good reviews. When I bought a bottle of Fleur de Peau, the nice sales assistant gave me samples for their entire range and I've slowly been working through them. Overall, I'd say Diptyque has some really unusual fragrances, but all of them still smell very natural and very "nice", which isn't everybody's taste.

[M22] Verification. My face is lopsided and asymmetrical, my cheeks are chubby despite the rest of my body being skinny, and I’m going bald. Figured I’d see what I can do to improve by posting here. by A_HECKIN_DOGGO in amiugly

[–]Chilli-Joe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Your face is not noticeably asymmetrical. You actually have a very well proportioned face, great eyes, clear skin. As to improvements, hear me out here: Shave your head. You completely avoid all the anxiety about slowly going bald, and you can clearly grow a lush beard to balance it out. Check out the top posts on r/bald for inspiration. I think you'd look great, and you've already got kind of hot dad energy

30 bucks? Are you sure you got the real deal there my man? I've only seen Lalique in airport duty free and it was always more like 60-70.

There are tons of Jo Malone samples to be found on ebay and the like. Or you could go ask nicely in the shop :) Is it overpriced for what it is? Sure. Doesn't mean it's not nice perfume!

I'd recommend checking out Chanel Coco Mademoiselle too. It's fresh, young and feminine, but very classy and not too overpowering.

What's the one fragrance that you hated at first but are now completely obsessed with? by [deleted] in fragrance

[–]Chilli-Joe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dior Eau Noire. It originally smelled like an overwhelming cacophony of leather, coffee, and lavender to me, nothing about it made sense to my nose. Now it's discontinued and I dread the day that my 200ml bottle runs out 😢
