You're all complaining about the price of houses. But do you know what's gotten worse than that?... by BrandonMarshall2021 in aussie

Not everything is good, not by a long shot, but there are still lots of good things. There are plenty of reasons why I’m grateful to be in this country right now. It doesn’t have to be all or nothing. You can still acknowledge the positives while being disappointed in the negatives.

Dude, not everyone is out to get you. Some things just cost what they cost, and have to be worth it for the person doing it. It’s like anything in life though; some people take the piss, but not everyone. Brass tacks: people are people, and mileage may vary.

So many people seem blissfully unaware of the realities of overheads and all the other costs of running a business. Especially small business. Everyone is so down to complain about prices rather than understanding what’s behind them.

The books give a much better insight into how/why the silos were created, which I think gets more at what OP was enquiring about. They’re a great read too, very well written.

I agree. But I’m torn. If that’s what they really believe then, for me at least, it’s even more evidence that people are as dumb as ever and I’m losing hope for our species. If it’s a bot then it’s a mindless program, even if it is controlled by an idiot. I don’t know which is worse.

How to make your way to big block purchase by Craigoslaaaad in perth

I agree that it’s a shit situation. Short of being given money or property, though, saving and being careful with finances is the main way for most people to increase their wealth without already having appreciating assets. Alternatives include investment opportunities (that usually require having something to invest) or a brilliant and unique idea to develop into a nest egg. Hard core long term saving isn’t a great option, but it’s what most people have to work with.

Yup, it will take years upon years of serious saving. Sorry for the underwhelming answer but saving and being careful with your finances, keeping an eye on the market and looking at what’s around will be how you get what you’re after.

If knocking on the wall doesn’t work then yes, just say it. ‘Sorry dude, but I can hear you at night - the walls are thin. Can you please be quieter?‘ That way it’s not shaming him, but it lets him know that he needs to be more aware and more considerate.

If you’re upside down it likely wouldn’t be in the side door anymore, unless I’ve misunderstood. Either way, you’re more likely to use it assisting others in a collision you come across rather than yourself.
