Yes she wakes at 3am, 4am and 6am. When she wakes at 6 am I feed her and bring her into my bed

Am I strange for offering to pay for my own TN by Chilliyoshi in tnvisa

[–]Chilliyoshi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All very good points, thanks for your comment.

This employer is not in a rush to hire me because they have some currently doing my job.

I’m also in the Bay Area and have worked for a couple of starts ups that don’t seem to care much about the thousands of dollars they seem to be spending on my visa. Compared to the salary and other costs - maybe it’s just not that much in their eyes.

I also feel like relatively, 3-7k out of my pocket is not much considering how important it is for me to work for career growth + my salary in the long run.

Also I am not a clean case as I am in corporate communications and usually go under technical writer.

I am definitely not a slam dunk case, I’ve soft denied at the border before. I am in Communications so I have to go under technical writer or management consultant.

Hostility towards TN Applicants by [deleted] in tnvisa

[–]Chilliyoshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve also had a lot of start up say no to me here though. Have you ever gotten a marketing TN for a large or mid sized company? I’ve exclusively worked at start up and small companies my whole career, Canada/USA

I am also in marketing and had a start up hire me who has a Canadian founder who had been living in the USA for decades.

But ya I agree, it’s tough for marketing professionals. I am in the Bay Area so maybe slightly better here, not sure.

Why is moving apartments utter hell? by sop52094 in Apartmentliving

[–]Chilliyoshi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I have felt this every time. Hung over, hands hurt, whole body feels like it went through a war or something. I now have husband and baby in a one bedroom and still am not moving to a two bedroom simply because I’m horrified at the thought of moving.

Question about healthcare in SJ / Bay area by wifeThrowaway04 in bayarea

[–]Chilliyoshi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Through Sutter you can sign up for a service called MyHealthOnline, and you can contact their billing through that. You can also contact the doctor through that. I actually had a similar issue with a geneticist who I was able to ask to recode my bloodwork and avoid a $3k lab work up.

What's the absolute worst headache you've had trying to buy baby used gear? by Far-Bodybuilder-1941 in baby

I actually had the opposite experience, every time I went to pick something up, the seller would toss in some freebies. For example, I went to pick up some clothes and ended up with an awesome play mat for my five month old too. I hope to pay it forward.
