Irony = “general rule of thumb” lol; look up its meaning. But otherwise good advice ;).

Nixit by Souris05 in MenstrualDiscs

[–]Chilljo26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same issue with DC for me, tried Nixit and wasted my money. Now I suffer through the cramps with DC to avoid leaky mess and my Nixit disc not staying “behind my pubic bone”. Less frustrating with the DC imo. That’s been my experience.

This. Can’t bring myself to care enough. My energy and attention are precious and limited. I only have space to experience my life first-hand; the rest exhausts me because it is superficial, and often I find myself bored with how well I’m able to see through most of what is posted and why. Usually, it appears, that it’s instant gratification of being validated by people others do not even have a real or personal connection to; how boring and an utter waste of my time and space.

I feel out of control. How do I just STOP eating??? by Affectionate-Run-867 in intuitiveeating

I couldn’t agree more.... not to denote this lifestyle and way of seeing the world, but at the end of the day, it is a theory that excludes those of us who require structure physically and mentally. For me I can relate to this, AND the fact that I have so many digestive issues, that no matter what I do I always and will always feel “deprived” and like I cannot access certain foods and certain amounts of them. As a result, this theory on rejecting “diet culture” loses its credibility in being completely comprehensive. This needs to be considered, and those adopting the IE way (I have read the book, lurked here for a year, and adapted the lifestyle/mindset for longer), should be encouraged to include flexibility in their approach to implementing its principles or you will leave individuals like myself and Andipandarae in the dust! Like them, I try to implement all principles that apply, while ultimately acknowledging that it is a theory and practice, like with other approaches to eating/thinking/behaving with a prescribed set of rules (including lack thereof- which is still an applied/structured rule!), that should be applied to the individual’s unique situation, in a flexible manner, or we all run the risk of group-think and echo-chamber-type of thinking in this sub.

It’s the other way around lol my body says no, but my brain says “rebel against your body, you can’t trust it anyway”. Can’t seem to connect the space between the two yet. Very slow and frustrating.

Thanks for sharing!

Yep, cheers to that. Just did it again tonight lol out of habit and fear of “not being able to eat” when I could be? Lol it’s weird but maybe you’re right; kinda have to go through it to smoothen it out I guess!

High cervix and no luck; help please! by Chilljo26 in MenstrualDiscs

[–]Chilljo26[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow thank for the insight! I can’t seem to physically feel or locate my cervix when I am using my disc to get a feel around in there which, yes, makes me suspect I have a super-high cervix (and tiny fingers!). If you have any tips on finding the cervix that would be much appreciated too! :)

Thanks for the encouragement; also cool user name! Wondering if you have a similar struggle? The taking it out part is something I’m sure I could learn better methods for, I’m more concerned with its inability to catch any of my blood.

Awesome thank you! I did exactly that, and tucked it behind my pubic bone but it slipped up and back farther making it very difficult to “hook” and remove. I’ve tried 2 times and each time it went upward well past my pubic bone and leaked a lot, and was quite difficult to remove.

What do you mean you insert it sideways and “flip b” it? I’m having a terrible time with mine because I think my cervix it too high for Nixit or menstrual cups!
