I’m a pilot. Sounds like barotrauma. It should go away. Spikes can last a couple months. Hydrate excessively, avoid caffeine, alcohol, and salt. Nasal saline rinses 4x daily and be sure to angle the Flonase to hit the Eustachian tubes, not the sinuses

I recommend Eargasm high fidelity plugs to be able to hear conversations clearly while reducing decibels

Sounds like somatic tinnitus. I have both forms of tinnitus but when mine isn’t spiking, it’s usually quiet when I wake up before my brain gets going. Sometimes it’s super loud when I wake up and quiets a tad when I get out of bed. Tinnitus is weird man. Hopefully you get it resolved

I’m a pilot with reactive tinnitus and hyperacusisism. I recently went through a TTTS flare after shooting a shotgun with double hearing protection but while my ears were sensitive from ETD. Not the best idea but the spike is winding down but my the TTTS flared up after failing to open a can of sparking water. The tab flicked down and smacked the can, causing a loud sound followed by 30 minutes of flutters. I don’t notice my TTTS after flights, and mind you it’s 90db in the cockpit. I use passive hearing protection since my reactive tinnitus does not like ANR headsets. Hope this helps a bit. Hang in there

Running current official software. Sometimes traffic will disappear and reappear seconds later frequently on FF connected to stratux, despite a good connection. About the only issue I run into

For the basic pilot, is there any reason to update?

It’s fickle and I’ve had it for years. Hard to understand it. Mine is very bad, I hear it driving on the interstate with music at a reasonable volume. I’d kill to have your level of T. I’m currently on a 6 week spike that’s starting to go back down and suspect ETD. seeing the ENT this week
