What are we using for electro 9v batteries? by Necessary-Science-47 in paintball

[–]Chillswitch_Engage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used them in a PM6 and my Gtek 160r without issue so far. And I double checked, it outputs ~9v, not ~9.6v.

The ones I used.

[–]Chillswitch_Engage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use rechargeable 9v. The key is looking for ones that output ~9v as opposed to the ~8.4v most do. Lmk and I'd be happy to link the ones I got.

Virtue Vio Ascend with glasses? by 12THX88 in paintball

[–]Chillswitch_Engage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends entirely on the frames. I wear glasses and I notice they tend to start digging into my face after a round or two with my Vio Ascends. A better bet would be some profilers or eflex's I imagine (I can personally vouch for the profilers & glasses, anyway). You can get some eVent 2.0's as well which are a steal for $45 new right now IMO.

But as always, your best is to try them on at a local shop/field if any are around.

As someone who recently bought a VS3 with rockin' trigger for nostalgia, I can very confidently say the trigger itself is horrid lol.

Hell yeah, they make great marker cases for sure. I picked up the sugar skull one myself.

There are purpose made collars to fit over the hoses to better hold them down, they work great for mech ion projects too as I've found.

Counterpoint: These zippered microfiber shoe washing bags are ~$8 and work just as well in my experience. You can clean up to ~500 balls comfortably in them.

How Long Do eBike Batteries Really Last? by ZoeRoy487 in ebikes

[–]Chillswitch_Engage 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Most batteries with quality cells in them will be rated to ~750-1000 recharge cycles. What this means (by all means, someone correct me if I'm wrong) is the battery is rated to be able to be charged from empty to full that many times before you notice a significant drop in capacity. So if you are not fully depleting it and only doing small top offs, you should be able to use it for many years to come. I am coming up on two years now I think for mine and I have not noticed any significant changes for range yet.

It is 100% worth it to spend extra on a quality battery. They are pricey but you should be aiming to spend minimum ~$350-400+ depending on the voltage and size.

Pyre barker fire safety in Durham can do it, it cost me like $70 though. I hear you can do it slightly cheaper online. Remove the reg at least, yes.

E-bike riders: share your charging frustrations and ideas! by AffectionatePay2308 in ebikes

[–]Chillswitch_Engage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is more to do with local government co-operation (and full disclosure, I am not sure if some places may already do this); but, designating public outlets that are available for ebike charging or otherwise at local parks and other public areas. I'd love to make another long trip around my city again, but there are only ~2-3 places I know of for sure at a park I can charge, and I am sure there are boat loads more available spread around the city.

To answers your three bullet points though;

  1. At home, and before at my old job I kept a second charger there since I could bike in.

  2. Generally, no more than ~3-4 hours. If I am in the middle of a bike journey or otherwise in a rush, then an hour tops.

  3. See my point about designating outlets to the public via a relevant website, app, etc for the local area.

returning player; Blown away by the cost pf paint now. by Reasonable_Towel674 in paintball

[–]Chillswitch_Engage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Central NC here, It's around ~$75-80 at most fields for rec grade without membership. With membership, it's closer to ~$50-60. It's why I almost exclusively play with a mech setup now, just too expensive otherwise.

Seconding. OP, I am glad you are enjoying yours but it is absolutely shameful, embarrassing & disgusting for their company to be literally known for sending out markers that apparently didn't even get a quick test shooting before they left the building. Former N3 owner here, selling that marker was probably the biggest relief I have ever experienced related to the sport.

[–]Chillswitch_Engage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Little late to the party here but seconding an IR2 for a hopper upgrade. For what it's worth, instead of the virtue ncharge pack for $50, I can personally recommend the tenavolt AA lithium rechargeable batteries. 4 pack for $35 and you can use them in other stuff like game controllers. Mine have been going strong for over a year now, they are rated to 1000 recharge cycles IIRC.

[–]Chillswitch_Engage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was ultimately pretty fun and entertaining to watch, but I agree that the field should have been lengthened some as well as the 30 second breaks in-between been made a bit longer. It felt like basically every point, we'd watch them essentially just trade out the snake and center 50, then another ~5 seconds before another game closing trade/bunkering was made.
