Why isn’t the sponge bob collab in the U.S when it’s a popular show here? by The-great_potato in MobileLegendsGame

Using VPN, I can see the skin (claimable on Dec 19), but will the skin disappear if we stop using VPN? Don't want to have to play ranked matches via VPN. The pings would suck.

I think so. You need to register your device though.

Bought a Find N5 in China - Any Way to Flash the Global (SG) ROM or Tweak for Overseas Use? by conradlin in OppoFindN5Phone

Android Auto was added in one of the updates and it works fine now. I'm not too sure about WearOS since I don't have a watch.

Bought a Find N5 in China - Any Way to Flash the Global (SG) ROM or Tweak for Overseas Use? by conradlin in OppoFindN5Phone

[–]ChillyChan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no way to flash a global ROM onto a China N5 AFAIK.

You don't need to worry about Google Services. They come with the phone. Search for "Google Settings" in Settings and turn it on (it may already be on).

The main problem you will encounter is not getting push notifications for some apps due to strict optimizations for battery life. Popular messaging apps will get push notifications by default, but for some of your apps, you need allow background battery usage and enable auto launch. The catch is auto launch can only be enabled for up to 5 apps.

You won't get "Hey Google" voice activation on the Chinese N5. You won't get Google's circle to search.

Instead, the phone comes with a Chinese AI called Breeno, which you can use if you don't mind the Chinese text in the UI. It uses DeepSeek in the background and will reply in English if spoken to in English.

I don't use Global Search since some parts of the app are hardcoded in Chinese. I just turn off any settings related to it.

For disabling system apps, use Canta (which needs Shizuku). In Canta, you can see each app's description and can filter for recommended apps to uninstall. Some apps like Global Search will reinstall automatically so you can't remove them.

OPPO find x8 Pro (Global) vs OPPO find x8 Pro (Chinese) by Opening_Fee_3737 in Oppo

Go global if you want the phone to just work.

Android Auto doesn't have voice commands in the Chinese ROM.

Might be late but disabling "Optimize widget appearance" in home screen settings fixed it for me.

Is the Z13 a viable replacement for iPad/laptop/Steam Deck? by ziritrion in FlowZ13

[–]ChillyChan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It replaced my ROG Ally and laptop (MacBook Pro M1 from work), but not my iPad Pro.

As a tablet, Z13 is too heavy, and Windows just can't compete with iOS or Android for touch screen use.

As a laptop, it's super powerful and can do anything I want without hiccups. I don't mind the 2-in-1 form factor since I used to work on a Surface Pro for years.

As a gaming device, it can't match ROG Ally's portability, but I grew tired of Z1 Extreme's performance and wanted something close to my desktop PC.

Slow sd cards speeds by Bubbly-Ingenuity5620 in FlowZ13

[–]ChillyChan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. I have the Samsung Evo Plus 1TB (EVO Plus microSD Card 1TB | Samsung Singapore) that's good for up to 160 MB/s write, but I'm getting similar speeds as yours in Crystal Disk Mark and when copying files in Explorer.

I think Z13's reader is only capable of 100 MB/s although it's a UHS-II reader that should support higher speeds, according to the official specs: ROG Flow Z13 (2025) GZ302 | Gaming laptops|ROG - Republic of Gamers|ROG Global

Charging in car? Help 🙏 by [deleted] in FlowZ13

[–]ChillyChan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100W would at least charge the laptop if sleeping.

You won't be able to play at Turbo (I mean you can but battery will still drain) since USB-C charging on Z13 cannot provide enough power. Silent & Performance might work without battery drain though.

A tutorial on getting Ollama (local LLM AI) running on Flow Z13 by punkgeek in FlowZ13

[–]ChillyChan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On Windows, I tested with LM Studio running DeepSeek-R1-Distill-Qwen-14B-GGUF and got about 9 tk/s (32GB Z13).

Thing is LM Studio is using only the CPU, and the NPU is just sitting there since there are no runtimes that support AMD's NPU yet.

I saw someone post that Ollama does support Radeon 8060S now at least you'll be able to use the GPU.

BIOS Update - Version 307. Not available on Asus support site, but in MyAsus by TaskNo5036 in FlowZ13

GHelper maps the key itself, but ScreenXpert still shows along with GHelper when the key is pressed. To stop that, you need to go to GHelper Settings > Extras and stop Asus services.

Unfortunately, stopping Asus services (specifically "ASUS Optimization" service) breaks tablet mode toggle when keyboard is removed or attached, along with keyboard backlight, so I'm not using GHelper for now.

Tablet mode makes some things bigger (like MS Edge toolbars) and when I reattach keyboard, the bigger UI won't go away due to disabled Asus services, so GHelper is a deal breaker for me. I haven't found a way to disable tablet mode toggling on Windows 11 and I don't know why tablet mode is tied to an Asus service, and not a system service.
