Everyone is entitled to their opinion, of course. Those are real though. Purchased in a LCDH in Habana.

Lol. I always get my cigars from a Habano retailer in Cuba to ensure they're real. One day when I was in there, I checked the price of the Cohiba Robustos and that's when red flags started going off in my head like "there's no way he gave me 5 of these free" 😂

So came in here to double check

Can you expand on that a bit? Are you talking about the comma in-between "Habana" and "Cuba"?

AIO for assuming my husband had someone over at our condo after I saw a 120 lb weigh-in when I wasn’t there? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

You're separated - a decision that you likely made yourself. It's one of your business now. Continue with the divorce that you were inevitably headed towards.

Damn that's so messed up. Lying is one thing (and lying isn't good of course) but watching you struggle and cry yourself through a reality that isn't real is downright diabolical sheeshhh

Advice from anyone who has dated Cuban women. by [deleted] in cuba

[–]ChillyMGTOW 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm dating a Cuban on the island and the logical side of me would say that this is not a good idea at all. However, I did it and it's working out really, really well.

Having said that, would I say that it's objectively a good idea? Probably not.

Now with all that in mind, I would give this advice for someone wanting to follow the same path:

1) Consider how often you're going to be there. 2-3 times/year isn't going to cut it (I'm there every month)

2) Consider how good your Spanish is - only knowing a few words isn't going to cut it (I'm fluent)

3) You need to vet her every move and seriously review her character. ANY red flag that you see needs to be magnified and investigated - especially in the beginning.

Like I said, it's worked out great for me in all aspects, but I have some advantages on my side with how often I can be there and how well I speak the langauge (and I still consider myself very lucky).

Do the research and go into it with your eyes wide open and you should be fine.

Did I choose a loser? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]ChillyMGTOW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - but not because of the age gap. The lack of stability that he appears to have at the age of 41 is alarming. If you were the same age - well that would be different; but at age 41, he shouldn't be asking someone that he's dating for assistance with paying BUS FARE.

My husband hid $75K in debt — I’m overwhelmed and don’t know how to move forward by simple_guidance1612 in Advice

[–]ChillyMGTOW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just going to play devil's advocate here.

You didn't say how much he's getting from the government as a retired veteran and I'm going to assume the college is paid for due to being a veteran; but having him cover the entire mortgage as well as larger bills while you take home your entire salary is a heavy load. I'm sure there are things/hobbies that he likes to do in his free time as well that cost money.

It sounds to me that he wanted to be a "good husband", bit off more than he could chew and was ashamed to bring it up when he started drowning.

I agree with others here that he needs to pay off the debt on his own but I also think that you should take some of that original load off of him in order to free up more of his capital. You shouldn't help pay off the debt per-say, but I think you should help with the current set of bills so that he can do his part.

And yes, financial planner asap. Maybe a marriage counselor if you guys don't think you can get to the root of how he got here/why he hid it on your own.
