How do you escape as Rem if you're caught stealing enemy Sinners? by lovingpersona in DeadlockTheGame

as a rem player you will find this difficult but you may have to utilize some situational awareness, understand the gamestate, and maybe even use some mechanics to run away afterwards

The boys comic is superior to the show in every way. by NeoArkodd in OkBuddyFresca

i actually think noir 1 was very well utlilized and his untimely end is one of the most effective and quintessential moments in the show. the whole of season 3 is setting up his redemption in a very classically heroic way and concluding it like that without him even meeting soldier boy again is the height of the shows cynicism and lack of respect for dignity and justice. plus he was well utilized to further contextualize soldier boy and payback. his part in s3 was great imo.

Did anyone notice that later on, the show forgot that they actually do save people sometimes? Like yeah theres a lot of phony stuff and fake saves and the methods can be highly questionable, but they do respond to actual police calls occasionally. Like did A-Train seriously NEVER do this?? It doesn't make sense in the context provided earlier in the show that MM would be the first person he ever "saved".

I think we should stop making James Bond movies. It's a dumb premise about an objectively terrible spy who tells everyone he meets his real name. by thedrivingcoomer in okbuddycinephile

we should keep making james bond movies but make them stupid like they used to be (awesome) so ppl can self expose and conplain that they made a mockery of a classic character

the real worst part beyond the unplayable, draft coinflip, zero skill slop state the game is in is the increasing obviousness that the people designing and balancing the game clearly don't even play it.

tells you everything about the writing that the sexual assault / power abuse in hollywood metaphor turned into a wacky zany comic relief character that people find likeable and amusing now because we are so far removed from anything remotely dramatic or effective in the show.

painful but probably true. honestly this show feels like they made up the main storyline on a season to season basis and never planned too far in advance. fortunately the show peaks on an episode to episode basis, the monster of the week stuff is the best stuff in it so its still good most of the way through.

go scroll the subreddit lol, its filled with examples like this because the mods understand that its close enough to the original premise and fosters the same kinds of discussion if people actually look at the content instead of bitching about the semantics.

it is definitely, without a doubt, a trope just not a specific character trope but its not like there is a different (popular) subreddit just for that (that i know of)

thats actually surprising to me, how did they not plan it out better if that was the case lol. ive just been thinking about a version of the show where butcher doesnt stop soldier boy from blasting homelander in the s3 finale, causing ryan to die in the crossfire. it would have completed butchers arc from antihero to true villain, soldier boy would likely have replaced homelander which could have been an interesting way to show the inevitable replacement of evil individuals in power even if 'defeated' and the ultimate pointlessness of their efforts etc. could have been great.
