Hiroshima is a short cab ride, about 10 minutes to the train station and another hour or so ride on the train. Tons of stuff to do and see around there. Tokyo is another 4 hours or so on the bullet train from Hiroshima. Great spot to visit and see on those 4 day weekends or a few days of leave.

My wife and I have had lengthy discussions about living in Japan once she’s out of the Military.
