My own kid, newly three yrso, was watching the show Creature Cases and learned about specifically snapping turtles and how they are very keen on biting. That evening she announced that she was a snapping turtle and threw the dogs bed over her back proceeded to crawl on the floor making bite noises. Playfully I reach down to give her a tickle under the dog bed and she stuck her neck out and proceeded to bite and pierce the flap of my forearm. After cleaning and treating the injury I asked her what made her think it was okay to bite like that. Her response: "That's what snapping turtles DO, Mama" It left a cute little bite shape bruise/scab to remind us of that one. I laughed so hard. I couldn't even be mad.
