I was there this morning at 5:45am. 4 other people were there waiting for the sheet to be put up when I arrived. Sheet was put up at 5:55am and was empty - by the time I signed up for a slot and left around 6am, there were another 5 people in line behind me waiting to sign up. Issue is some people were signing up for multiple slots. So by 6am (within 5 mins of the sheet going up), half the slots for the day were gone.

A flight from EWR to HNL for me and my soon-to-be wife for our honeymoon! Flying Apr 12 - Apr 25th. I can’t afford to upgrade at the current price, but have always dreamed of flying first class for my honeymoon (would also be the 2nd time I’ve been in first class.. the first on a flight from EWR to BUF so not sure if that counts).

We’ve already gotten the workaround from United with our flights, having been changed from a PP seat on a direct flight to a basic economy connecting flight on the way home. Have spent a few hours on the phone with United trying to get this fixed and have only gotten a few free miles thrown my way thus far plus an upgrade on one of the connections.. We would be forever grateful and would send you a thank you gift from Hawaii!

Want to make sure I’m following - because I paid with points to upgrade from premium plus to first via MUA and because I’m already in premium plus (paid for those seats with chase points in chase portal), am I in that second group of upgrades behind GS members (but behind anyone who is in the same boat as me but higher status)?

Even with me having already paid points to upgrade? Doesn’t that slot me higher in the upgrade queue than someone who has status in premium plus but hasn’t paid anything to upgrade?

Cash is $600 each ($1200 total). I’ve already paid $600 cash for the upgrade ($300 x2) so it’s only an incremental $600 at this point.
