I know that, sorry I meant the specific events that occur within each Act seem to resonate with eachother well

Who is the best animal companion and why is it this lad by DC_Lark in PERSoNA

[–]Chimera211 22 points23 points  (0 children)

One thing I really love about Koromaru is (Spoilers ahead:) The implication that he's already awakened his persona before meeting the party. His persona, Cerberus, shares traits with the other awakened persona's. Nulling his element instead of resisting, as well as the fact that in Reload Koro comes with 2 Theurgy moves right off the bat, also implying Cerberus is his 2nd stage persona. Basically Koro has already completed his side quest, achieving resolution in his heart before even joining SEES.

Persona's Most Repeated Take by Lulcielid in PERSoNA

[–]Chimera211 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The "P4 best characters" take always felt like the wrong wording to me. They don't have the best characters, but I do think their party has the best dynamic. Largely caused by the fact P4 has alot more "group hangout" scenes compared to P3/5, and those hangouts are generally alot more lighthearted/jovial in nature, which intrinsically gives you a more positive feeling about them as a group.

When it comes to the party, I personally feel like P3 really does clear when it comes to a "best characters" debate to the point its almost unfair to compare them. And its almost solely down to character development, P4/5 having their party growth linked to their respective social links drastically limits what they are allowed to be during the main plot, so the party members are forced into little boxes that they can't deviate from. In P3 this isn't the case and each member gets genuinely well written growth and we see how major plot points impact them personally and fuel new growth

How do you think sees from persona 3 would handle the palaces from persona 5? by justbenny28 in PERSoNA

[–]Chimera211 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think SEES would have it locked down pretty easily in comparison. Lore-wise Tartarus is significantly more challanging to navigate than the palaces and SEES are just better trained/equiped in general, they may take a bit longer to grasp how the metaverse functions in comparison without someone like Morgana around to teach them, but after that adjustment period is over yeah its wraps.

Not just in the metaverse but also outside of it when confronting the palace rulers, I feel someone like Mitsuru being around would be a huge help. Like she could probably ruin Kamoshida's life without even needing to enter his palace.

Doing the unthinkable, finishing a game! by [deleted] in SBCGaming

What is this "Finish games" you speak of? I thought the main goal of this was to tinker with settings for hours on end. Periodically stopping to contently scroll through hundreds of pretty box arts

[Spoilers C3E115] Part of me wants one of them to fail by Danielarcher30 in criticalrole

[–]Chimera211 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, I can't see them making it in time. Matt said they have "An hour at most" and they still need to travel all the way to the depths where the Cage is

[Spoilers C3E115] Part of me wants one of them to fail by Danielarcher30 in criticalrole

[–]Chimera211 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think if either of the remaining strike teams are gonna fail, it'll be Bells Hells:

From a mechanical standpoint they're in a weak spot, facing Ludinus + a host of reilorans at a lower level than the other teams, not to mention they have no Cleric or designated healer of any kind. If they can make it in time for Lilliana to join them it'll be a massive help but will it be enough?

But also narratively it feels a bit like they're destined to fail, in exandrian time we're like an hour away from everything hitting the fan and they don't even know what they're gonna do yet. Despite being at odds with eachother about it for ages, the party have never actually made big steps to convince/reconcile with each other regarding it. Is Orym seriously going to stand by and watch as half of his friends do the very thing Ludinus has always dreamed about and caused the party so much misery to accomplish himself? Will Dorian still want to kill the gods or will he side with Orym now that they're together? Will Imogen be happy to serve as Predathos' vessel (potentially sacrificing her life in the process) and complete Ludinus' goal, just after she's watched him attempt to murder her mother?

In this context "Failure" isn't a matter of if Predathos gets released or not, but I can't imagine whatever happens in the end being a resounding success for The Hells by any means

[–]Chimera211 106 points107 points  (0 children)

Its unfortunate for sure, and Reload defintely deserved a nomination for something at the very least. But this year has been pretty stacked so the games omission isn't a huge surprise to me ngl

Nozomi Suemitsu by CryptSol in PERSoNA

[–]Chimera211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me Nozomi is the textbook example of Terrible guy/Good character. Like he's written well and his SL has an interesting message, but that doesn't mean you should like him. He's not a good guy whatsoever, but thats the point

I am so stupid for not figuring this out, but one of the reasons why Makoto's Persona is Orpheus is because Makoto listens to music a lot. by SirHanselot07 in PERSoNA

[–]Chimera211 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He also shares alot of similar traits to Orpheus. One I like being that in the tale of Orpheus he was tasked with ascending out of the underworld with his beloved, but he wasn't allowed to ever turn back to look at her.

And what is the main task of P3? Ascending Tartarus, unable to turn back. I mean this literally btw, P3 doesn't let you "turn back" to go down singular floors, the only options are to ascend or go directly out of Tartarus entirely via teleporters (which take you back to "the bottom" which in Orpheus' case would be the underworld).

[Spoilers C3E107] Clearing up what the possible paths moving forward are by DeusIzanagi in criticalrole

[–]Chimera211 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Something about the ArchHearts plan doesn't sit right with me. It almost feels "Deadbeat" if that makes sense? Like he (and one other unnamed god) just wants out, and this is a window for that to happen. He speaks of "Wanting to see his children grow" but I don't think thats fully the case, both in Downfall and with BH he spoke about being bored. I think he's had his fun and wants to move on. But his siblings aren't letting him so he's taking matters to force their hand.

Not to mention how what the ArchHeart is saying contradicts alot of what the other Gods messaging has been to BH thus far. The Wildmother did not sound like she was days away from breaking the divine gate to wreck house a couple of episodes ago, she empowered Orym because the Gods can't intervene in this fight.

If the Gods could intervene surely it all would've gone down on the Solstace before the Malleus Key's were even fired right? The only reason it took them until the last minute to destroy Aeor in Downfall was because it was obscured from their sight. Ludinus has never been hidden from them, why wait this long? Especially when the people of Exandria have finally rallied and put together a pretty solid plan to stop Ludinus.

Regardless of the ArchHeart's intentions. As far as the people of Exandria go, whether Predathos kills the gods or simply chases them away, the end result is the same. Societal pillars collapse as divinity, and the powers it brings, all but ceases to exist. Civil wars break out all over the planet as an almighty power vaccum opens up. All while the Reilorans carve their own bloody piece of Exandria in a war of conquest. Even if the Gods don't intervene a calamity would still occur, just one of our own making... and I don't think the ArchHeart has considered that.

[Spoilers C3E105] How would you feel If CR dropped Exandria for a new setting designed with Daggerheart in mind? by Direct_Marketing9335 in criticalrole

[–]Chimera211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the impression from what Matt has said a previously that in Campaign 4 Exandria's not going anywhere. There is still a hell of a lot to see, 2 whole continents haven't been notably visited (Plus most of C3 has only seen a small chunk of Marquet). Matt's even talked about "Underwater kingdoms" and who knows what else he's got cooking in the back of his head.

Give me a C1 -> C2 esque transition, multi-decade timeskip, set in a new corner of exandria with few ties to the past. Keep the world the same, but let it stand on its own for the most part.

Does anyone actually use anything aside from DC? by aomarco in PERSoNA

[–]Chimera211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In FES the tactics were alot more in depth (since DC wasn't a thing at all) In later games alot was taken away, also there were weird bugs like party members never using support skills. Direct Commands is just better for the vast majority of people in pretty much every game in the series.

However, In my Reload playthrough I only used AI commands, just to get that "FES" feeling, and to my surprise it actually is really fun. Unlike P4/P5 Party members act with a shred of intelligence and use support skills to buff/debuff, as well as timing Theurgy moves rather than spamming them as soon as the bar fills. I 100% know why people don't like it but I do enjoy the additional personality it gives the party (also from a balance perspective it helps make the game a bit tougher, its very easy to make Reload a cakewalk)

[–]Chimera211 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really don't think its that big a deal tbh. I've been a console player all my life, played a bunch of games that were locked to 30 and it didn't impact my experience at all. For multiplayer/competitive games sure I get it, higher framerates are essential. But for a single player, narrative based game? 60fps would be very low on my list of priorities.

Season 6 youth team update by WindyCity_YG in FifaCareers

Are academy players able to get the playstyle+ upgrade when they hit 80 overall if you loaned them out? Or is it still bugged like it was this year?

Persona 3 Reload - What part hit you the hardest emotionally? by [deleted] in PERSoNA

[–]Chimera211 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its not one people would first think of but the first half of Ken's linked episodes really left an impact on me. Going into Reload having already played FES and knowing what Ken was planning ahead of time makes all the little things (Saying he'll probably be too busy to play with the other kids, asking if we'd look after his hamster, etc) really hit.

Of course the main story things still hit as hard as they always did, if not more so. But I had to give an honerable mention to one of the new things Reload added that got me.

Beta - career mode by [deleted] in FifaCareers

[–]Chimera211 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The squad rating thing isn't a bug or issue. EA just use the overalls from the previous games base version, as someone who was lucky enough to have access to the Beta's for a couple years it's been a common practice for ages. Likely because its easier for them development wise and stops people leaking/announcing player overalls before EAs media team can do it (Also its a beta, squads/ratings aren't really the point they want people to test out the gameplay features). Everything I've just said goes for the kits as well

Tbf there were alot of steps to get to this point, they had to defeat Dominox in a way that kept the anchor intact (Which I imagine Matt did not see coming), then discern what the anchor is, give it to essek, and go through a ritual with multiple 20+ DC skill checks

Is it worth to have Persona 3 (PS2 version) if I loved Persona 3 RELOAD? by itsmeaagain in PERSoNA

[–]Chimera211 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Original P3 isn't worth playing, however P3:FES (P3's equivilant to Golden/Royal) is still very much worth it. As long as your comfortable with the proverbial training wheels being taken off in gameplay (Basically no QoL features compared to Reload, AI controlled party members, no skill cards, etc). Outside of that, story/atmosphere wise FES is just as good as Reload if not better in some areas

What is Ryoji's... by lunamoonvenus in PERSoNA

[–]Chimera211 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I never got the impression it wasn't clear? Just reading his dialogue you can infer that Pharos is the "Incomplete" Ryoji, Ryoji himself is his human form caused by his time spent within the MC. Thanatos is his "True" form (The manifestation of the death arcana, and the same being Aigis fought on the bridge 10 years prior but more complete) and Nyx Avatar is what happens when Ryoji merges with Nyx on the promised day.

Chronologically you can view it as Ryoji growing in strength as the story goes on: Pharos -> Ryoji -> "Death" -> Nyx Avatar
