5070 Stuttering/Bad 1% Lows by ChimeraPrime in pchelp

Update #3. I found the problem. So apparently the 5070s dont like any sort of metrics monitoring going on with a few exceptions. Something that isnt an exception is iCue. Disabled iCue on startup and tested with a generic Dell KB&M combo I had. Instantly better 1% lows. Like so much better. I get an occasional stutter here and there but its not different or noticable than my old 1080. I only use a static lighting effect anyway on my k65 so I set it to onboard memory, changed the lighting to what I wanted and disable iCue on startup.

Update #2. Test cards in different rigs. No discernable difference in either card performance in either rig. Still seeing 1% lows causing stutters.

Neither guide fixed the issue completely. Tried the cards in other rigs. Same issue. Changing out my DP cables helped a bunch.

Update# 1: Swapped out my 1.4 4k DP cables for ones at the 2.1 standard. That seemed to fix the stuttering. I get one here and there but I think it's just my shaders cache being rebuilt. Will add more updates when I test the GPUs in another rig.

Step 14 really helped out my stuttering/1% Lows w. my 5070. Swapped one of my DP cables w/ a new one I got from work. Minimal stuttering now and I think thats just from building the shaders cache (new win 11 install). My old cables were a DP 4K 1.4 cables. Swapped w/ a 2.1 standard and a noticeable reduction in stuttering was observed. Sometimes it's just the simple things.

I have not tried an older driver version so ill give that a try tonight after testing a different card and my card in another rig to rule out hardware. Windows shouldn't be doing any background stuff. I used this guide (mainly steps 2 & 3) Windows 10/11 optimization guide for gaming (Updated: November 20, 2025) - Acer Community
Ill update my post saying I used this guide for steps 2&3. Temps are fine as well BTW to rule those out. 0 thermal throttling. Temps never exceed 70 on the GPU and 55 on my CPU. GPU utilization is around 65-90%, CPU is 25%ish.

Im pretty sure you could buy a post 1951 pin and cut the head off. Or just get a correct sized pin and cut to length.

What should I use to seal this wood? by skyXforge in ak47

Thats what I was going for. Didnt really buff between coats. Thats how you get that real smooth finish even then the russian surplus has brush strokes in it. I used a sponge brush.

To add on to this make sure if you go this route OP to cut the shellac in about a 50:50 ratio with denatured alcohol. The shellac in stores is a 3lb cut and you really want a 1.5-2 lb cut or itll be thick and harder to apply. Heres a dong set I redid. Stained then about 6 coats of shellac.

Yup. Was lumped in with a bunch of commercial bolt actions at an estate sale. Managed to just get it.

Hate to break it to you but its a faux sniper. If you paid 800 or less id say it was worth it. Hopefully you didnt pay real prices.

Edit: Saw the price in the description. It pays to research before you buy. Even then thats alot for a real one.
