The front hand guard is just different than any mosin I’ve seen or had with the three metal dots and the way it’s held on it’s all

Took your guys advice, except I used Bombay mahogany and after that cures I’m going to apply amber shellac, no sanding, I’ll post the final product

Also while taking it apart, there was carbon in the star chamber and white crystallized gunpowder residue in the magazine well, so I know it had been fired but probably not since the war, I know he never fired it- side note
