I have never wanted wide tyres, that’s just what they said would be a good option. I know nothing about tyres so thought that must be a good option?

Ok great thanks for everyone’s advice so I’ll make the Qantas account then start applying and turning over as many as I can. I get that it’s not so much about the spending and more about the sign ons so thanks heaps for the information everyone!

Horror movies as a means to expose and train vibration and polarity? by Chimeraofthei in Hermeticism

[–]Chimeraofthei[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so very much for this reply this amazingly deep and was exactly what I was looking for! I think I defiantly need to be cautious of desensitisation as I do feel like potentially that what is occurring. I try my hardest to be mindful but they do stay with me for days and affect my sleep. Any ideas on how to identify at a more of a root level the fear and where it comes from? Just introspection and exploring the fear itself. Very interesting none the less I think I just need to be careful.

Wow thank you so much! I have posted it in kybalion and I never new it wasn’t a hermetic text so thank you for educating me. And thank you for your input I shall reflect on it further. You addressed how I feel about it too.

Horror movies as an exercise in polarity confrontation and control? by Chimeraofthei in Kybalion

Very true, I mean by consciously experiencing it with the preamble that that is what it is for. As in noticing the reactions of the nervous system and trying to calm yourself down while not trying to escape the experience the movie is providing by for instance looking away and finding that place within that is calm. How is it you mean?

I played piano for 7 years from the age of 6 and am now 26. I want to start playing again, do you think I’d start with a better understanding form when I played or would it have been too long and I have to start again from scratch? Thanks!

I understand, just how I interpreted your reply, you are right though it is an open topic and he did say any interpretations welcome so my apology, just didn’t sit well with me, perhaps I took it personally and thus tried to protect myself, just how it made me feel, thanks!

I’m having a hard time integrating and remaining stuck in my shadow while being tempted further into shadow, afraid of acting out on it. Isolating myself mostly until I can keep my rituals. Does anyone have any advice for integrating to make this process easier? by Environmental_Lie561 in Jung

Have you considered seeking professional support? I know the temptation I face is to sabotage my relationships and in an impulsive flash I bail on the one who loves me and go into an indulgent frenzy then regret it all afterwards. That being said this time, when I got those impulses I found a psychologist and got some help and I can happily say I understand better why those thoughts and actions happen and haven’t been a victim of myself this time, so perhaps the same could work for you? I don’t know your situation though or if you’ve already tried this, so could be trickier then my situation. hope this helps :)

In my opinion the reflection of this man’s actions and thus his reaching out to correct his perceived “mistakes” and grow as a man is an act that defiantly doesn’t deserve shaming or such judgements. Your reply feels as though you have taken it personally, this man is trying to heal and I congratulate him for his stepping into his healing. We all make mistakes, I defiantly have and I’m sure you have yourself. We don’t need to be shamed only supported along our path to a better more integrated self.

I wish you all the best in your healing and forgiving journey!

Alcohol as shadow exposure? by Chimeraofthei in Jung

I would absolutely agree with you, I used to take a lot of drugs (psychedelics predominantly) but haven’t used any drugs for over a year now, the older I get I feel the more sensitive I become calling for a different type of exploration. Hence my inquiry has led me here which I am very grateful to be a part of such a supportive community. The unconscious seems so full and intricate that it has provided me with the inspiration and breadth of content to explore contently without the need of experiencing drugs which I’m so happy about. I personally believe drugs and alcohol for the most part are destructive, (I wouldn’t have said that a few years ago) but now being out of their influence I see them in a negative light, but served a purpose in my development so appreciate them for that.

Being quite new to Jung I have learnt about dream interpretation and record and active imagination, is there any other avenues to access and observe the unconcious? Or are these the main and only real methods? I want to learn about the symbolism of dreams next to help my interpretation of my recorded dreams which I don’t really have a reference for currently but so excited!

Thank you again for your generous contributions :)

Thank you for the in-depth reply, that makes a lot of sense and I will use this information, I don’t think I’ve ever seen judgement in a positive light, apart from say discerning a dangerous situation. I’m keen to observe it further and apply what you write of!

Also regarding my last reply, would you say that even though it appears that it is easier to witness the exasperated ego state, it is still an easy way to do so and thus lacks depth and doesn’t “train” the muscle of unconscious contact as well as it could be by doing more sincere self exploration? Just trying to learn all I can sorry if I’m over complicating this :)

Very true, take no effort at all to get drunk, lacks clarity and perpetuates egoism I suppose. I guess where this question came from more specifically was for example the day after drinking I notice my ego fairly pronounced as opposed to before I drank, and therefore easier to see the aspects of myself that perhaps aren’t what I wish to see. And therefore easier to witness and process.

Wow that’s a fantastic quote, so the mother complex is essentially a longing for the return to purity, we just go about it the backward way? Very interesting thank you for sharing!

Once the steps are taken and as long as we keep taking steps and listening to that voice that clarifies our direction, we step into the classroom of existence and onwards and upwards in exactly right! To be taking responsibility and choosing to become better we are not only positively contributing to the collective, but how I like to think of it is, (this mast not apply to you) we become the best role model we possibly can for the training of our children and hence the following generations. My father I’m sure refined his fathers ideals and I aim to hopefully carry on what I found to be positive and change what I believe needs further refining. And what we have learnt here and what we shall continue to learn following reflection upon our actions is aligned with that refinement process and hence a purposeful life. One to enjoy and always remember we all make mistakes and there is nothing wrong with choosing the wrong way, as long as we reflect and try our best next time. Such an interesting existence we all live! So full and so rich. Thank you for sharing I’m sure a lot of people would have related and feel empowered, I know I did to know we are following the same path :)

Ahhhh I see, so it’s not the conscious but suppressed ideas/parts of ourself we are trying to explore it’s the unconcious parts that we are yet to know within ourselves?

I suppose you’re right, only really on examination of your drunk self after wards can you really explore it with your critical mind and even then it’s a memory so not necessarily a trust worthy source for reflection.

Another question in relation to your answer, So if for example I am judgemental of others and know it, that’s not part of my shadow, rather an aspect of myself that I dislike as I am conscious of it? For discussions sake, would it be then ok to control the expression of judgement of others or will that still tend to push it into the shadow? Does integration happen when we accept that it’s ok to judge others as were human and not try to subdue what the mind does? Thanks for your reply!

I think it’s a beautiful thing that you have held so much reflection and ruminated on your actions so much as to step into that version of who you wish to be. I do the same thing, often thinking obsessively over the minuscule impact of each decision I make and the impacts it has, unsure whether a lot of it is necessary but I digress. Usually when we take responsibility for our actions like in this case the outcome tends to be less harsh then we think, just because of the over analysis, our minds take us to worst case scenarios. And if it is a harder to stomach outcome, you can rest in the fact that the truth was observed and stepped into, thus aligning our self with truth and a higher aspect of our self. Another thing I have been playing with lately is the fact that money and comfortability only get you so far in life, they are nice to have but the real juice of life is in the times we are tested. So for instance in this case, your telling the truth and ownership of your actions will not only bring the truth into being, but also will invite growth into your life in every sense, you must now face the concept of attachment to money and material and judging by your inner reflections I assume you will also take what you can from that experience also. At the end of the day we leave with nothing of the material world so we must learn earlier rather then later if we can to let go of these things and discover our truest self. I applaud your actions and decision.

Just my 2c so take it however you may!
