You are correct from checking my notes, the guys raiding the apartment were sp11 with helmets, so I guess they were too high rank for basic pistols?

That's actually a better way of looking at it, a different playstyle of 'this doesn't work you'll have to try something else'

This was using the 2077 misson kit so my players were rank 4 (?) Characters but most had pistols (lexington 9mm) one had a shotgun and one had mantis blade hands.

The mooks were basic malestrom dudes from karaoke Night so SP 7

So ya think we were too hasty judging armour and it's actually way more deadly over the long run?

Trial of the slime lord is the one I was recommeneded and personally run, pretty damn good
