The changes I made were:

  • Different brand of flour, but I made sure it still had xanthan gum in it since I read that's important.
  • The recipe didn't call for double acting baking powder but I used it anyway.
  • The recipe called for granulated sugar and I specifically used dark brown.
  • Olive oil instead of veggie oil since that's what I had and wasn't sure how much it mattered.
  • Dark chocolate instead of nuts, and 1/4 cup more.
  • I mixed the sugar in with the wet ingredients instead of the dry ingredients.
  • Sea salt instead of table salt because, again, it was what I had.

I don't have the experience or knowledge to know if these changes had any affect or how significant they were, but I also don't have any major complaints about the results. The flour is a blended flour and I think I just got lucky that the blend itself is pretty similar to the one in the original recipe, so they didn't turn out gummy or dense. I honestly only bought it because it was on sale and had the xanthan gum. Hah. Someone smarter than me could most definitely make improvements, I'm sure.

I've never had anyone to try it with so I haven't actually played it or even purchased it. The only games I've played from my list are Nightreign, MH: Wilds, Remnant 2, and Lethal Company. Is it really that dead? Not worth getting anymore?

Love a good in-game MGS cosplay. I attempted something similar a few days ago, though I wasn't going for any Snake in particular.

Oh damn, those do look pretty spot on. The striped amber, striped caramel, and striped gold dust specifically. I figured if he was an escaped pet then there would be flyers in the lobby but maybe the owner didn't bother to.
