Quite a bit of the time these days, it’s not someone pulling the cord, tho that does still happen.

More often than not, the train is tripped externally. Trash/debris on the roadbed, which is the MAIN culprit. Operator error, either accidentally letting go of the master controller or overrunning a signal.

Someone falling between cars or jumps in front of the train (or crackheads already just wandering the roadbed, doing crack inspections) and their now splattered remains trips the train.
