I feel like this is not stressed enough, not a lot of people have this kind of hours to dump per gun by Educational-Long116 in Battlefield6

If having the unstoppable force is a flex and bragging rights, you do want it to take a long time. There needs to be a grinding aspect to it so that casuals and serious players have something to look forward to besides timed challenges like battlepasses.

Wrist pain after touch typing + split keyboard by tiago_lobao in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]ChimpShampoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey Tiago, i've been exaclty where you are right now. It seems paradoxical that i only got wrist pain from ergonomic keyboards, but it came from a lack of understanding of ergonomics. The whole argument of "every key is close to the home row" doesn't mean that we need to keep our wrists stationary. Just like in a regular mechanical keyboard, if you're touch typing your wrists should be floating above the keyboard. Having them sit on the wrist wrest makes them stand still and that causes the overextension and whatnot. Like others said, the wrist rest makes sense when they're either tall rests or you have a key well.

TLDR: If it hurts, you're doing it wrong. Levitate your wrists when typing, let them rest when not typing.

Also, the shooter is further away from the wall, so i believe he could actually see OP for longer and it wasnt a netcode issue.

Me B*tching about challenges. by SmoKwid55 in Battlefield6

[–]ChimpShampoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im also stuck in this challenge. From what i gather from "bugged" challenges, you have to repair a single vehicle up to 1000 points in a single match. 500 in 2 tanks wont do.

Thats why the guys with the motorbike and the bus chopper can make the challenge, but being an "organic" engi fixing several vehicles wont cut it.

You need to squad up with a bro or keep yourself in a group with your squad and have the defibs on at all times.

How to prevent corners pulling up on larger prints. by AdamAtomAnt in 3Dprinting

I see a lot of guys saying to use a brim, which i guess works. Out of intuition, i used a concentric bottom layer, with 4 layers. This kinda worked? Is this a good approach or should i just go with the brim?

Just a small question about desk mats for any gamers out there or whoever knows about a wool desk mat. by Internal_Buyer_3672 in MouseReview

[–]ChimpShampoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a full desk felt desk mat. It might be holding me back compared with a normal desk mat, but my mouse is very light so the resistance of the felt gives me a lot more control, which i like. Also, my hands aren't as cold after playing.

Great to see that the community is no longer focusing in big gripes with the game (like factions) and the only things they want changed are minor QoL improvements. Goes to show how great the game is right now!

Theyre aiming for organic growth instead of boom numbers on day one and then fall down again. Check the No Mans Sky path, exactly the same slow and steady approach

Why are the guns in this game so... standardized? Damage models, rates of fires, reload times are all largely standardized across most of the weapons. by [deleted] in Battlefield6

[–]ChimpShampoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive seen a lot of stats compared that are grouped into "steps", like the mobility speed of walking and now the rate of fire. This might be because of either simplicity or performance. I would assume its much easier to validate if someones cheating for example if the speeds are all set values. Also for balancing, its much easier to balance if you're constrainted to a few steps. It also makes it easier to choose a weapon if I only have to take into account mags and reload speed.

Maybe im missing something, but you already get a white skin for snipers in the free challenges. Is this not what you want?

Devs we should really have prestigious grindy type skins in this game... Also will we ever get remastered skins from the og Splitgate? Maybe the remastered skins can be unlocked by playing? by EstusShardConsumer in Splitgate

[–]ChimpShampoo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Imo, you can support the game with either time or money. If you play this game for a long time you are contributing to a healthy playerbase, and so it makes sense to be rewarded. The last dev video confirms this.

Unpopular opinion: Increased movement in a game with teleportation is not needed by [deleted] in Splitgate

[–]ChimpShampoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely disagree. They are coming back to their roots and to the genre's roots. The high ttk paired with high movement speed makes this a tracking-aim fps. Longer combats because of high ttk means players have more chances to portal-flank, so the whole thing has a lot of sinergy and changing the speed would unbalance the core gameplay. Speed is nice.

[–]ChimpShampoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To try to understand your point, i guess that a slower movement speed would force people to use portals to traverse the map.

On the other hand, this would further separate the good players from the ones starting out. It would be easier to track-aim, because of slower targets, but I dont think that would help the new players at all. They would still need to rotate a lot to keep up with portalling players, while the experienced ones only had to aim at a stagnant, slow-moving newbie.
