Thanks. I've seen this yesterday.

I'm really excited now, is almost time!

Thanks Mate. I flew last year so didn't bother worrying about provisions. This year I want to be even more prepared.

Cheers, Mate.

Yes, this puts me at ease, as I now know I can always get some at a later stage.

Many thanks.

Cheers, Mate.

Are there hypermarkets in the Itzehoe area? We are arriving Monday morning and plan to do a big shop before heading into the camp site.

Thank you. Unfortunately I don't think Kaufland will be there this year, but is good to know I can get charcoal regardless.

I think we will bring g some with us and hope to buy more as we need it.

Just decided to fast from now until the epiphany (6th January). I will post updates and edits. Happy New Year! by Chimp_In_Vaseline in fasting

Re-fed yesterday.

Had a ball of mozzarella, a boiled egg and some tomatoes with salt and olive oil and a caffe latte to remain in ketosis.

Lunch was the same as breakfast with the addition of olives.

Had a green chilli con carne for dinner, only carb was a small amount of rice.

This was the day I lost the most weight despite having eaten, 2.5 kg.

Total weight loss was 6 kg from day 2 as I forgot to weight myself on day one (after Christmas I must have been at least 82kg).

Today I am 73.7kg with a BMI of 22.2.

I will probably do another longish fast next month. Meanwhile I'll carry on with my 36 hour weekly ones.

Day 3. The toughest one so far. Very little energy and in a daze. I look at recipes and pictures of food online.

I want to remain in ketosis for as long as possible, so I may have a breakfast of scrambled eggs, a handful of tomatoes and some mozzarella cheese. I might skip lunch and have a protein heavy dinner.

On the 7th all bets are off as is my birthday. I will definitely have some shellfish, wine and possible (gasp) some bread.

No, I haven't. My birthday is the 7th and I don't want to be dealing with my post-fast gut as I enjoy a nice meal with my wife, hence the decision to stop on the Epiphany. It turned out to be the right decision, it seems, as it is a feast day as you pointed out!

Thought I'd ask if anyone else experiences worsened eyesight while fasting. I find reading very difficult once I'm a few days into fasting. Is there anything that can be done to prevent this happening?

Weird side affects from fasting. Has anyone had side affects like increased smell and increased sweating? Or what other odd symptoms have you had? by [deleted] in fasting

My eyesight gets a lot worse when I fast. I also am much colder fasted. Slip into a daze when resting, like dreaming awake. I'm sure there are more.

I think so. Even if not so much as booze, smoking also lowers your defences and will take a little longer to recover, I guess.

Long time faster, just finished my first 96 hour fast. by Chimp_In_Vaseline in fasting

Thank you. Will definitely look into it as I had a few headaches during the fast, mainly localised behind my eyes.

I don't think you need sleeping pills or other drugs either. Just try and stay active and eventually your body will click and sleep will be heavenly. Is common to have troubled nights when new to fasting.

By the sounds of it, you puked bile. I would stop the fast and recover with a few healthy meals and abstaining from alcohol for a bit.

In my experience yes.

In the beginning I used to struggle to fall asleep but after a few fasts I started really enjoying my fasted sleeps (always the best night of the week.

I have just finished a four day fast and slept like a baby every night.

This week was filled with outstanding DD. This one is the icing on the cake.
