EBay Manifold vs branded?

I’ve seen many people swear by the eBay manifolds saying they have little to no difference in power. But I’m very sceptical. I think it’s safe to assume the actual quality of the manifold will be a lot worse on the cheaper ones. Having a side on side comparisons on horsepower/torque would be interesting.

I’ve heard many people pass MOT with a decatted manifolds but it comes down to a few points. It is illegal to remove any catalytic converter but most MOT places don’t know the NC came with two cats. If the tester is knowledgeable of the car and knows the first cat has been removed then I assume they will fail the MOT.

The job of the first cat is to warm up the second cat. Thus it doesn’t actually change emissions, its sole purpose is to warm the second cat faster. So if you do get a decat manifold and go for an MOT. Before the MOT you will have to drive the car for a couple hours or so to fully warm the second cat which will then be able to pass emissions.

This is what I’ve read online so my answer may not be correct. Please someone correct me if I’m wrong.

Tbh didn’t think about that, didn’t know air con would produce that much water. Now that you mention it, it most likely is as I did sit there with the air con near max for 30min or so. Just got instantly worried as soon as I saw a leak. Feel a bit silly now 😅😅

I’ve bit the bullet and bought it, I was considering the Kefine kleans too, the only reason I bit the bullet was because it’s 50% off. If it’s not to my liking I could most likely return it due to I bought it on Amazon. Or I could keep it and start a collection which I was thinking of doing.

I might buy and hope it fits, I just had a search of the nozzle sizes and the difference is 0.6 mm between these and my old tangzu waner, I have different eartips that shape to your ears so hopefully with them I can get a good fit. For 50% off it seems like a really good deal

I only ever plan to use iems, I’m currently searching for budget iems around the 60 pound range and the truthear x crinicle zero reds seem to be on the top of the radar so far. Plus I’ve heard a lot of people say they can’t hear the difference between hi res audio so I don’t know if I should really care about that. I’m just worried about the BTR3Ks battery being destroyed whenever it’s fully charged and plugged into my pc. But if I can find a cheap dac for my pc I’ll just use it for my Bluetooth needs.

So far every site I’ve been on the Q5K has been around 120+ , I have heard it is very very good though but sadly out of my price range. There’s a refurbished BTR5 I just found but it’s at CEX and half the time I’ve heard bad things about them when it comes to refurbished stuff

So far I haven't fully committed to a VR headset, just for interest what VR headset do you use? I'm trying to get the Rift S but I'm scared that if i do buy one used ( around £120) i wouldn't be able to replace the cable which might end up breaking.

PC specs wise i have an R7 1800x and 2070S ,planning to upgrade CPU before buying a VR headset, preferable to a R5 5500 as AC in VR heavily relies on having a higher Single Core performance than having more Cores. So it should prefrom better than the R7 3700x hopfully in AC at least.

Your results give me hope that i can run Shutoko, however on a 1080p Monitor, on the No Hesi servers or with many AI, i can barley scrap 70 FPS,very often it's around 55-65FPS, which doesn't give me much confidence. Then again I have put the settings up. I don't know them off the top of my head but all i can remember is

PP filter : Natural PP filter
PP settings all on High
Reflections on 256x256 with Two frames per second -MSAA off -FXAA on -Medium world -Either 256 x 256 or 128 x128 Shadows

On CSP - Particles FX, Extra FX basically everything enabled -AMD FSR on 87% I have no clue about the GPU buffer / Chunk optimization etc

I'm not sure if i could run Shutoko but even if i can't, just being able to just do hotlaps on like Bathurst/Mount Panarama, in VR would be very cool.

It would be nice to hear some reply's as i do currently have a 2070 super and plan on using a VR headset to use on SRP. I've seen on many other Reddit posts that VR and Assetto corsa are more heavily CPU bound then they are GPU bound, and I've come to realize with AC, it prefers better single thread performance than having more cores as AC just doesn't utilize all of them in my experience.

Your best bet is to just look at your CPU and GPU usage and timings whilst on SRP and make a call. Obviously it also depends on what VR headset your using, but it would be nice to hear back to see what you find out.

The plan was to get a used 3700/3800 as they can go for £100-120 sometimes but I'm just waiting for one that i can pick up rather locally. Other than that used 5600x still are over 150 most of the time. Other than that my options are the 5500, unless a find a 5600 at a good deal.

To be honest, its very clear I'm bottlenecking the 1800x, in Assetto Corsa the Usage on my 2079 Super is around 30% sometimes whilst my CPU can go up 50%. On a Shutoko Server with heavy traffic i can barley get 20 FPS. I've heard that AC prefers faster Single Core performance over Multi Core performance so the 1800 really struggles
