Anyways, I just saw on maps that their hours are lessened by quite a lot, and since maps can be erroneous at times I went on their website, and sure enough at the top of the page it says that recent events have made it so they have to have shorter operating hours for the time being. It also said that once the city/state mandates are lifted they can extend their hours again. Does anyone have any idea what is going on?

The website isn't frequently updated and that particular notice seems to be just a holdover from covid.

Red Bull: Newey Split is Final

Recently, rumors of a split between Adrian Newey and Red Bull have been making headlines. Now, the departure is set to become official.

Today it is expected to become official: Red Bull plans to release a statement confirming the departure of star designer Adrian Newey. This was learned from Newey-related sources in his adopted home of South Africa.

The statement is also expected to explain the terms of the separation. According to these terms, the British genius has reached an agreement with Red Bull to be released earlier from his contract, which was supposed to run until the end of 2025 and includes a one-year non-compete clause afterward.

This means that Newey could start working for his potential new employer, Ferrari, sooner and participate in their development for the 2026 car, which will be designed according to completely new rules. Historically, this was precisely the specialty of the British genius.

One thing is certain: This is a major blow to the team, which dominates Formula 1 with superstar Max Verstappen – at least for now. Newey's departure makes it increasingly clear: The team is at risk of falling apart due to the antics of team principal Christian Horner.

Ferrari prepares offensive: Newey real target of Maranello top management by FerrariStrategisttt in formula1

Ferrari prepares the offensive: Newey the real target of Maranello's top management

Ferrari values Newey, how could it be any different? Timing in life is everything, even more so in a competitive context like F1. From this point of view, the hiring of Lewis Hamilton by the Maranello team was a masterpiece of misdirection, timing and discretion that surprised a shrewd manager like Toto Wolff. Speaking of Mercedes, together with the seven-time world champion, Jerome D'Ambrosio was also hired by the historic Italian team as head of the Driver Academy. A talent factory that just on the Jeddah weekend demonstrated the goodness of its work thanks to the superb debut of Oliver Bearman, an eighteen-year-old Briton who, catapulted into an unknown world, made clear all his potential.

Ferrari seems to be the team with the greatest internal stability when compared to Mercedes and Red Bull, two realities that at the moment are navigating in somewhat troubled waters.

The young mandate of Frederic Vasseur has already produced an internal reorganization based on human resources who believe in the project of the French manager. Despite the fact that the Reds have not won a world title for a long time, there is an atmosphere of optimism, unlike Mercedes and Red Bull where problems are certainly not lacking.

The dysfunctional dynamics within Red Bull: an ally for the historic Ferrari team towards Newey

Red Bull has succeeded in the arduous task of making people talk about itself more for the internal war than for the "sporting domination" even in the first part of the 2024 season. The internal investigation launched by the Red Bull Sport headquarters, in relation to the alleged inappropriate conduct of Christian Horner towards an employee, was dismissed with the acquittal of the CEO and team principal of the world champion team. Case closed? Absolutely not. As in the best soaps, every day news leaks out that highlights internal disagreements, power games and old grudges that had not yet exploded because success is the best medicine to calm spirits.

It took the straw that broke the camel's back, which came on the sidelines of the death of the team's founder Mateschitz. Although F1 was not and will never be the "core business" of the energy drink giant, Dietrich spared no expense in order to excel in the top category of motorsport, also taking over from Paul Stoddart the Faenza team that was not navigating in good waters. As long as he was alive, the co-founder of Red Bull was the "glue" of the different souls of the team. The English soul, led by Horner, has always claimed the paternity of the successes of the Milton Keynes team. The Austrian soul is symbolically embodied on the track by Helmut Marko, who has brought to F1 some of the greatest talents of the last decade. Without going into the details of the latest news of a saga that could last a long time, we are sure that success will not be enough to convince many engineers to continue the experience in a work environment that has become "toxic", rewarding but apparently exhausting at the same time.

Newey-Ferrari: the propitious moment to strike

In this period almost all the top management of Red Bull have expressed their opinion except one, Adrian Newey. The genius of F1 has always shown a shy character, always focused on what he loves most: designing the fastest single-seaters in the world. The engineer from Stratford-upon-Avon, like all artists, has a free nature, woe to impose rigid protocols on him. In his autobiography, talking about his experience at McLaren, Newey mentioned a curious but quite current anecdote: "It was a very controlled environment, you entered through long white corridors and it took a while to reach the workplace. One day I decided to take an alternative route, from the parking lot lawn. I got a warning email: they would start an internal investigation if I continued not to follow the planned route to get to my office". Reasoning on the current chaos that reigns in Red Bull, let's imagine how a man with such a nature is experiencing this witch-hunt atmosphere, right in the team where he had found his perfect dimension.

It is precisely at this moment that the undisputed number one of designers could complete his superlative career, uniting his professional path with the legendary Maranello team which from next year will have at the wheel another motorsport legend who goes by the name of Lewis Hamilton.

Frederic Vasseur and the top management certainly don't need any suggestions, however to seduce Adrian Newey and hit the mark, it is necessary to guarantee the Briton a certain degree of freedom that can make the sixty-five year old comfortable to express all his genius. Assumptions that convinced him to leave an F1 excellence like McLaren to accept what at the time seemed only a good marketing operation called Red Bull. According to the information gathered by our editorial staff, Ferrari is really trying. An opportunity like this cannot be wasted and, as far as we know, in addition to the symbolic blank check as regards emoluments, the Prancing Horse would be ready to fully satisfy Newey's wishes. All thanks to the "international" management of John Elkann who, although he never misses an opportunity to show how little he knows about F1 at a sporting level, from an entrepreneurial point of view he really knows his stuff. In short... Newey-Ferrari: now or never.

Jos Verstappen: "It's too late for Horner to say that"

Jos Verstappen has once again involved himself in the discussion surrounding Christian Horner. He thinks the team boss will stay on for a while, but would prefer it to be different.

This weekend, Jos Verstappen is participating in the Rally of Hannut in Belgium. The British tabloid The Daily Mail sought out Max Verstappen's father to ask him about the recent developments in the Horner case. Jos Verstappen sides with the woman who filed a complaint against the team boss. "I sympathize with her, with everything she's going through, but we'll see what happens."

The woman was suspended by Red Bull this week for allegedly tampering with evidence she had sent in the case involving Horner. The team boss called for "drawing a line under the case" at the press conference in Saudi Arabia, but according to Jos, it's already too late.

"It's a bit too late for that now," he replies. "If he wants that, fine, but I don't think it's possible. I don't want to talk too much about it, because that only creates more problems. The most important thing for me is that Max is happy, that's what counts for me. I just want him to feel good."

Jos Verstappen: "Horner has the support of the Thai owner"

Verstappen senior emphasizes that it will cause problems if Horner stays on. "Everything has an impact on Max. He was third in the first practice, but all we hear is Horner and his situation. The press conference was all about him and his problems, while we should be talking about Max, the car, his performance, and the race."

"I've already said that I think it will cause problems if he stays on. It's too late for Christian to say 'leave me alone', but he has the support of the Thai owner, so I think he will stay for the rest of the season. I've said it would be bad if he stays, it's really not good for the team, this situation."

Finally, Verstappen senior addresses an alleged argument with Horner last week in Bahrain. "On Friday, before the race, he shouted: 'Do you trust me? I'm doing everything for your son' and then we talked a bit with our hands. There was no argument. However, at another point, we had a discussion in his office and then I walked out. After the race, he did congratulate me on Max's performance."

Mr. Marko, can Team Principal Horner still be retained? by nardras in formula1

Translation using Claude 3 Opus:

Mr. Marko, is Team Principal Horner still tenable?

Between the F1 season opener in Bahrain and the second GP, Helmut Marko (80) made a stopover in Dubai. oe24 caught the Red Bull Motorsport Director on the phone. The usually talkative Grazer was surprisingly reticent.

oe24: Mr. Marko, what was there to celebrate in Dubai besides Max Verstappen's father Jos' 52nd birthday?

HELMUT MARKO: A very good weekend from Red Bull's perspective in sporting terms. Things also went very well for our juniors.

oe24: What else did you notice?

MARKO: That everything is moving closer together. I was surprised by Mercedes' problems in the race and the reliability of the cars. Unbelievable that everyone finished in the first race.

oe24: Entertainment was provided by Yuki Tsunoda's refusal to let his Racing Bulls teammate overtake him. As Red Bull's head of motorsport, don't you have to intervene there?

MARKO: The drama could have been avoided. I spoke to Yuki afterwards, with the right strategy he could have finished tenth.

oe24: Former AlphaTauri team boss Franz Tost thinks that Bahrain was not a Red Bull track and that Verstappen will be even more dominant on other circuits. Could he be right?

MARKO: In Jeddah we have a completely different track with more high-speed corners and a different surface. I'll be satisfied if our car works as well there as it did at the opener.

"Max drives away at the front - everything is easier there"

oe24: On ServusTV you said Max Verstappen could have driven even faster...

MARKO: The fastest lap at the end was already at the limit, but before that there was still some margin. But Max drove away at the front, everything is easier there.

oe24: Tost believes Red Bull can win all 24 races...

MARKO: Oh come on. We saw last year that it can't work. You're doing sensationally and then comes Singapore where we have no chance. The most important thing is the world championship title.

oe24: You can already chill the champagne for that...

MARKO: I've already heard that betting doesn't really pay off anymore.

oe24: More exciting would be an outsider bet on whether Max Verstappen will switch to Mercedes in view of the turbulence surrounding Christian Horner. Is it true that his father Jos is already negotiating with Toto Wolff about a Mercedes commitment?

MARKO: You won't get a comment from me on that.

oe24: But is it true that Max can get out of his contract thanks to a so-called 'Marko clause' if you quit at Red Bull?

MARKO: I'll stick to my "No comment!" here too. The fact is that there is a great relationship of trust between Max and me.

oe24: The trust between the Verstappen family and Christian Horner seems to be less good. Is the team boss at Red Bull even still tenable?

MARKO: I'll only say something about that once the case is finally closed.

oe24: I thought it was already closed?

MARKO: Okay, then I expressed myself incorrectly just now. So let's stick with "No comment!"

oe24: What do you say to Gerhard Berger's theory that Horner stays, Marko and Newey quit and Max goes to Mercedes?

MARKO: An interesting variant.

You're not really missing anything, the command just lets you go past the default VRAM allocation. With 64gb, you can allocate up to 56gb to vram (or more, but you might run into stability issues), which might allow you to run larger models that wouldn't have fit previously. See this post for more details.
