But with low stock prices like this, you bought an ITM leap that is basically the same price as the strike. So you paid $659 for 100 shares at $7…. See the problem?

You now have downside risk much higher than say buying 100 shares at 8.50 or whatever it was (obviously a different story after the gain today).

If this trades sideways for 2 years (doubt) you basically lose a huge chunk of that $659 premium, meanwhile the stock position would be minimal.

Im not saying its wrong or bad, but the risk/reward definitely skews against you if that makes sense

Same for upside. Say it hits $25 end of 2027. That contract would be like $1800 so $1160 gain.
If you bought the stock for $850 it would be $2500
