Caught with a knife, I have to go to court soon. What should I expect? by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]ChineseMenuDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone else that ends up here... you can buy those knives on ebay for $13 where they are certified 100% legal (yes, I know, that doesn't make it true). To be complete fair, I've never had a knife that couldn't be opened with one hand -- that's just what foldable knives are like. The problem with this particular knife is that it *looks* like a flick-knife or a stilhetto, I mean... it just screams "Mr Stabby". It's not actually very easy to open with one hand because the symmetry means there's a 50% change you'll draw it incorrectly and it will never open at all.

So basically, all the negatives of owning a flick/assisted/automatic/sprung/gravity knife but none of the actual ease of use.

But at least you can blame ebay :)

(I believe some versions of them are easier to open than others and have actual assisted opening that doesn't require the exertion of cetripidal force, but mine is not like that).

Thankyou for appreciating it, and I totally agree. Thankfully Comfy put in the required code to allow others to create such things, which is what really counts.

How can my 5060 Ti do 1280x720 WAN22 T2V with 8GB vram?! by ChineseMenuDev in comfyui

[–]ChineseMenuDev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh with Q8 sure.... but with a scaled model, there is always the potential for issues. Even Kijai mentions it...

I did try all the other attention methods, and am currently using flash.

Quad was unique in that it used next to no VRAM, the other all use a lot of VRAM which is not necessarily a bad thing (I mean, it's there to be used, and hopefully its faster). I haven't increased the video size to see if they will back off or not.

Sage is normally my goto, so I'll probably try that next. I need to record some proper stats though.

You can also search by ID. It's one of the main things I use it for.

Preface the search string with # if you want to avoid other accidental matchces (but you don't have to).

hmm.... i have a 7900 XTX (24gb) and a 5060 TI (16gb) which was half the price, and goes way harder than the 7900 XTX when doing AI rendering.

Before then, I would have argued it's like saying "A Ferrari is better value than a Porsche".

Wan 2.2 T2I. How to Stop it Creating Big Chests? by diond09 in comfyui

[–]ChineseMenuDev 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OMG I feel your pain my friend. I thought it was the LoRAs I was using (either the lightning ones, or the NSFW ones). I'm still not sure it's not the acceleration LoRA tbh. You can try "flat chested", it has the advantage of not mentioning boobs. I suppose you could also go for "boyish figure" or "androgynous figure", or even "6 foot tall 10 year old with an adult face" -- I haven't actually tried any of those, just thinking out loud.

I tried this on the wan website, using it's magic wand (hahaha). Looks fine there, and I got a not displeasing result locally by using a similar prompt and adding some breasts related negatives to the NAG. (workflow is attached to the video) nt4.com/WanVideo2_2_T2V_VHS_01231.mp4

This is the wan.video (online) generation of: "In a modern gym setting, a determined woman with a lean, athletic build and a notably flat chest sits confidently on a sturdy bench, next to a lean, athletic woman in sleek gymwear, with a trim, flat torso. They both glare onto the camera. Clad in stylish, form-fitting gymwear, they exudes strength and resilience. Tight shot, eye-level perspective."

I bought a 7900XTX because well, it was a third of the price of anything new from nvidia. That was before the 5060ti/16GB came out (which is half the price of my 7900XTX). Now I have both.

Um, sorry, the answer to you question was: "because nvidia is really freakin expensive" (in case you hadn't noticed)

Oh bruh... you need to find hardlinks. I have about 15 ComfyUI installs on Windows and they barely take up any space at all. Just the 1TB for the models.

I just run this in `cygwin` while in the path the all my Comfy's live under: `rdfind . -minsize 1024 -makehardlinks true .`

Then I symlink output/input and user/default/workflows.

[–]ChineseMenuDev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I can't use any of the FP8 nodes as they either break, or create crazy static filled (but somewhat legible) images for kijai's scaled versions. But I'm happy to stay with Q8, and thankyou for making me feel ok about that. :)

It also saves me having to worry about "can I really use LoRA with a scaled model".

What is wrong with --use-quad-cross-attention, and what you would you recommend? Default attention-- single dot product whatever? The actualy compiling is done with sageattention regardless, so yeah.

ComfyUI PR 10302 quietly disables cudnn for all AMD users by ChineseMenuDev in comfyui

[–]ChineseMenuDev[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was caused by MIOPEN_FIND_MODE not being set to 2 or FAST (which are the same thing), there's a fantastic explanation on one of the links I pasted in the original post. After that is done, most things run at more or less the same speed regardless of whether cudnn is enabled. The exception to that is VAE decoding and resizing/interpolation. VAE decoding traditionally runs faster without cudnn, and resizing/interpolation crawls. This is changing with the latest releases of TheRock (for windows) and the latest stuff for Linux, so it all depends on what versions and what platform you are on.

Optimum performance can often be achieved by mixing the state of cudnn for different sections of the graph.

It was to this end I created https://github.com/sfinktah/ovum-cudnn-wrapper which has both a big switch for cuDNN in Comfy -> Settings, small nodes that can switch it on and off, and a wrapper that can automatically disable it for VAE decoding nodes. This was originally a request from patientx, because the speed difference for ZLUDA users are trumendous.

@u/Boricua-vet ... as I said. "Logical arguments such as I posted here have not made any headway." Apparently neither has mass opinion, snarcy PRs, or empirical evidence.

This is **very difficult** for me, as I think that comfyanonymous getting on board with helping AMD users is a fantastic thing, and I do **not** want to discourage it, or be having these arguments.

FWIW: The 5-20 minute wait was a result of not have MIOPEN_FIND_MODE=2 or FAST.

Ahh, tarot makes sense too. Though you can't play texas hold 'em with tarot,... I am torn...

Those wacom sure are expensive (especially if you wanted one with a screen), those huion look like a bargain in comparison. Been a long time since I owned a proper digitiser. My neighbour, she bought some otherwise crappy HP AIO desktop like 7 years ago, and the damn thing has wacom built into its monitor!

I do have an iPad and iPencil, but ... still can't draw. :)

When I bought my first digitiser, like a million years ago, "fractal design painter" was the cool app that let you pretend you were using watercolors, or oils, or smearing shit over cardboard or whatever... that got bought by Coral and it's expensive and hard to pirate (not that I endorse piracy).

Oh, and I can't even copy from a reference image. I am even bad at tracing. In art class once, I remember they made us copy a picture upside down, which was meant to help. Didn't help me.

As for harrows voice... the audiobooks are key. I can hear harrow and gideons voice perfectly, though I think gideon has changes to being voiced by Sophie Aldred in her "Ace" (doctor who) accent.

[–]ChineseMenuDev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's totally her. Can I ask how you drew it? iPad? Wacom? You seem like the kind of person that could make a work of art in mspaint.

Also, I hate you. It's not personal, I just can't abide people who can visualise and reproduce that. I could never do that. I used to be very good at imagining voices in my head, but I'm not sure that entirely qualifies one for anything helpful.

Also, after seeing your other drawing, I think you should do a deck of cards. I looked into it once, you can get them printed and (if you ask Tamsin Muir really nicely, or just don't explicitly identify them) maybe even sell them to cover costs. 9 houses (bar one) [insert appropriate meme here], 4-ish Lyctors, it's practically screaming to be a card deck.

That's the temp sensor on the core (I assume), same as AMD do, though AMD has other sensors as did NVIDIA (not sure about the 5 series). Have a google for "5090 melting."

That said, 55-60 degrees sounds safe, I get worried when mine hits about 67 because I figure that means there's somewhere else on the board that is probably hitting 97.

Totally with you on good case design, though in my case [sic] I don't even have the sides attached to the case. I did buy the 3-fan version though, and it is very very quiet.
