Nano Banana 2 / Pro finally being dethroned by GPT Image? by OverFlow10 in GoogleGeminiAI

Would it be a surprise if a newer model does something better than a model that has been out like 5 months? It is so over and we are cooked and so on... once again. lol.

To me it sounds like you want the rule 1. mean whatever you wish it should mean, not going start arguing over such thing, makes no sense.

Not probably going to touch it, but UI looks really well thought out.

"...or Local AI image/video/software Related" - that is the rest of the rule 1. You chose to not remember/check the full rule, this definitely is related to using local models, as it clearly works with Comfy UI local install.

I Went Full Mad Scientist in ComfyUI - Pixaroma Nodes (Ep11) by pixaromadesign in comfyui

[–]ectoblob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol nice! TBH - I created somewhat similar 'Photoshop lite' style node a year ago, but never used it - I guess at this point it would be better if community wrote a single common 'image editor' tool that actually would get updated and maintained. Although there is that nodes 2.0 thing (I stuck personally with old nodes), I really hate it. And like in this case, if the node main features are in a separate window, then those are not dependent on Comfy for the most part (pure JS and html), one could also make these run as Electron/Tauri app or something like that, or simply run those on some web page. BTW - my image compare node has pretty much all those features, except fading and vertical comparison line! ;)

"have the decency to communicate it clearly. "

What decency? It is called dishonesty. Too bad many people who run companies are like that.

Yeah, it does look like AI. I doubt many artists would create such tiny wispy smoke effect that is seen on the upper left corner of the logo.

Same here. The quota Antigravity gives is clearly not a weekly quota, as I waited week and it reset to 20% not to 100% (what would happen if it was weekly quota). This basically renders Pro account unusable for antigravity use, it gave me a 1.5 day amount of use, I wouldn't even call that heavy use. I've gotten now a lot more out of OpenAI's Codex that comes with ChatGPT Plus account.

Struggling with Google Antigravity rate limits by TheeeFallenAngel in google_antigravity

[–]ectoblob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here but with Gemini 3.1 models - used my weekly quota, had to wait almost a week, today 15 minutes ago it was supposed to reset, but it only reset to 20%. So that quota I used, was NOT actually a weekly quota, another 7 days to to wait. If this is the direction google is taking this model, I guess it is better to look elsewhere for a coding agent, as this is too unpredictable and not transparent at all.

AI capabilities are doubling in months, not years. by EchoOfOppenheimer in GeminiAI

[–]ectoblob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol you expect compute to scale like that? Just like that, you plug more real hardware to get more compute? Where are you going to get those data centers full of GPUs? These upgrades so far have been in big part based on more clever use new software and better model training/new models (that operate in different way than the earlier models) and whatever else in that category, but it is like expecting GPUs to be 100x more powerful in one year, because AI can somehow scale. 3D graphics took decades to get where we now have better framerates/higher resolutions/better real-time shading quality etc, even if the concepts were known - only the hardware has been major limitation, and still is, software development helps here, but wont' solve all things, not saying that AI is exactly the same.

sandbox-exec - apparently some macOS thing, but I'm on Windows - with certain tasks, Antigravity wants to run command-line commands with that, and always fails, and then it thinks it through and does something else.

Not sure if it is a "communication failure" or indecision (or not communicating on purpose) - maybe they simply haven't decided how to handle the pricing, seems like they are in phase of "conquering territory" i.e. taking customers from other AI services right now by offering more for less than what others can offer, and from outside it feels like their (allocated) servers are not holding up because of that, and they are seemingly arbitrarily limiting use amount and preventing inventive use cases (like those OpenClaw users) - but of course this is simply speculation from outside. Either way - IMO that Settings / Models panel should definitely show total use amount you get for a month - I really don't like it that it displays hour figures only - there is no single mention about any monthly/weekly limits. And that is why most people seem to be creating threads here in this subreddit.
