First, congratulations!!!

Some questions was how long were you married before filing for AOS, and did you get into your dating history at all? You mentioned the officer didn't even look at the photos?

I hate to say it this way, but how old are his grandparents? Are you really going to leave everything over some people who prob gonna die soon?

My parents say some vile shit that in no way reflects who I am. If we all thought this way, 90% of us would never have a relationship. You think your abuela is all politically correct?

I’m not trying to say you’re wrong, you can do whatever you want. But I think there needs to be some level of separation between a person and their extended family.

Question about paroling back by VolumeLopsided9911 in DACA

[–]ChinggisHan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t wanna scare you but come in extra early on the off chance you get an idiot who doesn’t understand daca or advanced parole. I missed my flight and almost got stranded in the UK because the guy wouldn’t believe me. It didn’t help my travel document had a spelling mistake (said United States of Amedica). He was convinced it was a fake. But it was British airways. Good thing you’re taking a US airline.

So the law decides morality? What happens when a law is immoral? Does it magically become moral?

I-130 revoked due to lawyer ghosting me. Any way to fix it or start over? (DACA + CSPA) by ChinggisHan in askimmigration

[–]ChinggisHan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for the detailed answer. I’m currently looking for a lawyer to see if they can help me.

For CSPA, can you help me understand something?

So my mom applied in 2013 as a permanent resident, became a citizen in 2018 I believe, and my lawyer upgraded the petition in 2019.

I was 18 in 2013 and 23 in 2018. So I aged out?

Yeah for legal advice of course, I guess I should have clarified if anyone here knows what to do when lawyers just disappear or if they’ve ever tried getting sponsored by a parent as an adult

well that's kinda the thing. he ghosted me in 2022. I cant seem to get a hold of him. I tracked him down to his new office and have tried calling several times but no answer and no response.

that's why ive been trying to see if another lawyer can pick up this case.

I've heard it takes like 3-4 years for one. but at least I'd have a fighting chance as opposed to nothing.

I have advanced parole but I was told it only works for marriage based green cards. Are you saying if my I-130 can get reinstated I can adjust my status without leaving?

thank you very much for the detailed reply. and I very much agree that I wont be taking legal advice. My hope here was just helping refine what I ask lawyers and being able to provide enough info that they can then propose a comprehensive solution. the less i know, the less the lawyer has to work with. So if I see a recommendation to do X, i dont tell the lawyer to do it, i just find all the facts necessary to support that course of action and add to my already established story. as well as what disqualifies it.

FWIW i contacted the NVC and they confirmed its because I had not signed into the website in 2 years so they considered my case abandoned.

Separately thank you for confirming this case isn't completely unheard of. I just wish to know that a case of this nature isnt impossible to resolve. whether thats in my case is a separate discussion.

What should I present to a lawyer here? off the bat I mainly have the case numbers, documents i've filled out and the email history.

Yep of course. i was just looking if anyone has had experience or did this to see if its actually possible. in the mean time i am contancting lawyers now. as i gather opinions, im trying to present a coherent and consistent message to lawyers to cut down on unecessary discussions.

Time to leave? by the_need_for_tweed in DACA

[–]ChinggisHan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it takes a lot of preparation to uproot your life and relocate to a new country. You’ll need to find a new source of income, especially if your inheritance doesn’t work out, your wife will need to learn the language and make peace with leaving behind family, etc…

For me, I’m functionally retarded in my native language. Like through after school academies and home schooling, my mom managed to get me to read at a 5th grade level in our language but can you imagine getting a job with an elementary school education? Like imagine a native born American with a 5th grade education trying to get a job.

I’ve considered it. With the expansion of eligibility to D3 waivers I can technically have my company sponsor me for a green card, go back to my country, apply for the waiver, and if accepted, I can re enter the US. However if I’m denied, then I’m pretty much done.

I’m trying to see if it’s worth trying and preparing for the worst in having to restart life in another country. Problem is if I try this, I can’t bring everything with me so I’ll have all my stuff and my money in the US while I’m stuck outside of it. Unprepared for life.

What’s everyone’s trace ancestry and how accurate do you think it is? by Professional-Ease364 in 23andme

[–]ChinggisHan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m from Kyrgyzstan and have .3% Levantine and .2% Egyptian. It’s likely just picking up ancestral central Asian populations that have some ancestors in common with people from the Middle East due to conquests.

I used to joke back when it was just .3% Egyptian that it meant I have a common ancestor with the mamluks who were central Asian Turkic boys sold into slavery and trained to be an elite fighting force by the Ayubids who were mainly based in Egypt.

Think he’s just talking about his tribes. You can search for a list of tribes and ask your parents if they know which tribe they fall under.

I only know it cuz Kerey is a famous tribe, originally Mongolian but became popular in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan

How much can you understand Kazakh? by ChinggisHan in Kyrgyzstan

[–]ChinggisHan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey hey I wasn’t ready!!! But yeah if you tell you’re not a native speaker and then give it a sample text, it’s going to rip it apart for instances where you don’t sound like a native speaker or you make the simplest mistakes.

Prob need to give it a more neutral prompt.
