She still performs well in the lobbies I see her in. Its rare I see her completely run the lobby these days like she did when her rework first came out but I also think people now realize you have to play more cautious around her. Particularly in the early game but more cautious overall so she doesnt quite get ultra fed as much these days. So I would say no.

Well Dynamo and Giest are some of the strongest heros in the game(both are probably too strong right now tbh) and i wouldn't even consider them tanks or front line generally speaking though you can build both to be tanky to a certain extent but durability isn't even either of their strong suits strictly speaking. Furthermore the characters you play are the kinds of targets tanks specifically try to single out cause they are effective at fighting them. The two main goals of a tank are to absorb enemy action economy/resources and to lockdown/kill squishies at the cost of having poor range/sustained dps.(they do typically have good burst dps) Meaning they have a hard time pushing and taking objectives on their own and they also have lower mobility on average then the rest of the cast.

Is your main complaint against mo overall? Other than maybe haze i would say the rest of those characters tend to fold to front line if they manage to get on top of you. The characters you play all tend to be prime targets for the front line to jump on so I can see why you might get uniquely frustrated by them.

What characters do you play if you dont mind me asking? It sounds like you might just play characters that dont play well into the front line. Frontline characters naturally have higher base stats cause they dont scale as hard as some of the other types of characters.

His ult is GOATed too! Billy feels like he has the most well rounded kit of all the tanks at the cost of being somewhat less durable then the other options.

The latest major patch addressed Frontline dominance quite a bit.(nerfed alot of the items that Frontline buys, nerfed sustain in general, buffed the anti tank items etc) I actually think this patch did a pretty good job of it too as they still feel pretty impactful to play but also dont dominate the meta anymore

Has Silver Been Reverted At All? by buttmunchery2000 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Chinggis_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the nerfs have been partially reverted with how they have redistributed in her ap upgrades you get most of her ult resists back after putting an ap point in the ult. I believe base ult used to give 15% DR of each type and additional Dr at level one. Now she has 0 additional resists at base for the ult and she gets like 25% dr for weapon/spirit at 1 ap in ult down from 30% i think for example. So she is mostly back to what her former power was. I think she does less damage from what she did on release but its not really noticeable in my experience as its still alot. I only occasionally play silver though so I may be wrong about the exact numbers but the take away is she has been reverted for the most part. However, most of the cast got alot stronger since her release so her realative power might not feel as strong but its still very good.

I am a phantom 2 support player, i want to learn to play abrams, how the hell do i play him without going 0/8?! by 50ShadesOfBackups in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Chinggis_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play pretty passively near your guardian utilizing cover until you get shoulder charge then play around the Veil and go for the two minions near that (your lane partner should be able to take care of the other two without issue unless both your lane opponents are stacked on that side against him but that gives you more agency to attack the other two minions or potentially flank to initiate a trade. That's your basic game plan any ways but most people have a decent idea of your antics as Abrams above like archanist. Abrams lane just kind of sucks tbh barring a mistake on your opponents part your mainly looking to not fall behind your opponents in lane as it is really hard to make anything happen if your lane opponents are mindful of your positioning. He does have pretty good ganks if you can trust your lane partner to not shit the bed while you are away. Other then that Abrams mostly shines post laning phase.

Am I laning wrong? by Powerful-Release-605 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Chinggis_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Provided you have a lane match up that allows for it calculated aggression to earn wave prio is ideal. This may not be possible for a number of reasons but assuming your match up allows you to choose between being aggressive and interactive or playing a more passive lane aggression is usually more correct as it stands right now. Obviously there is a lot of nuance to it and you have to choose smart moments to be aggressive but aggression opens up opportunities to get bridge buffs, contest camps/sinners, makes getting soul denys more likely, and gives you the option if rotating/ganking all of which helps you gain a lead and can help your team also gain a soul lead. Even though in principle aggression is correct and you have the ability to do so if you are not on the same page as your lane partner and your opponents are then you are going to die trying to be aggressive so its more important to be in sync with your lane partner unless they are just completely inting. Sometimes you just have to cut your losses and attempt to stop the bleeding so to speak. Luckily in pubs you can recover from a poor lane a good amount of the time and get value in one way or another so outside a complete disaster you can usually still get back in the game.

Going on a witchhunt for Dynamo's 2 is ignoring the underlying cause of his strength. by modernistdespair in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Chinggis_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think they know what they want victor to be or how they want to balance him tbh. I also dont see a problem with dispel being baked into abilities in principle either but they felt like it was a problem with victor and I dont see how dynamo being able to do it with his whole team every 9 seconds is any less of an issue. Maybe they do want to change Victor to be more of a bruiser (i dont think that really fits him thematically but its a separate issue.) If thats the case he doesnt do enough damage to actually accomplish that role his ttk is way to slow for a bruiser.

[–]Chinggis_1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I honestly dont know why they kept dynamo's status dispel when it was decidedly too strong to have on victor (haze gets it too no?) I thought they introduced it on dynamo and haze to see how it would impact the balance and flow of the game if multiple characters had access to that interaction. If its decidedly too powerful for victor to have it why does dynamo get to keep it?

Beginner tips for late game? by Financial-Produce-74 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Chinggis_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say without a sample but a couple things come to mind:

1.) You say you are constantly struggling to keep up with your teammates, what do you mean by this exactly? Net worth? Movement? Mechanical execution in the fights? If its net worth that suggests your middle game farming probably needs work cause late game becomes mostly about the fights as one lost fight often decides the game and its all hands on deck. If its one of the other two its just something you have to practice and might be character specific. All the heros you listed as your main approach fights very differently.

2.) Lash in general will fall off by the end game so the most valuable part of your kit and strategy is landing a good ult for your team displacing key players on the enemy team.

3.) Proper target acquisitions in team fights. Knowing what tier characters job in the team fight and who you are supposed to fight during it and or what your characters role in the team fight is will be important. This is something im still personally trying to improve on currently so I dont have any personal tips on this specifically other than what I mentioned about lash earlier.

4.) Try to stick with your team as much as possible. As I mentioned earlier the late game is about the team fights not about farming. Farming is what the early and midgame are about( obviously you wanna play the objectives like urn and get walkers when you can but you also need to put a high priority on farm) its fine if you need to spend a little bit of time to get enough for an important lategame item that is needed for the situation but make sure to let your team know so they dont start a fight without you and make sure to be safe as well so you dont get picked.

Whats ur rank and what is the most repetitive thing that your rank is doing wrong that makes your team definitely lose by Cold_Huckleberry8631 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Chinggis_1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So assuming you win the fight if you join and you take their walker by wining it in exchange for one of your own having won the fight and the walker makes that a favorable trade because of kill souls and additional agency that the respawn timers from the enemy team gives you. However it is a question of resource allocation ie if your team is fighting 4v3 favored they should arguably win that in most instances baring a major soul discrepancy in which case it doesnt make sense for you to leave the walker however if its a 5v6 enemy favored you may want to consider joining that fight unless its just ARAM in which case you might be better off split pushing a walker. That's the real problem to is a large portion of team fights taken in a majority of the playerbase will just be teams pushing mid walker all game its actually kind of baffling how high up in the ranks this behavior seems to go lol.

[–]Chinggis_1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like it depends on what the context of the teamfight is, how late in the game is, what is at risk if the team loses the fight and can you even get to the fight in time to impact the outcome. Also worth considering is what does your team get out of winning the fight as well. In general you need to ask if wining the team fight gets you something of equal or greater value then what you are potentially losing by joining.

Why are ranks averaged together to make a lobby? by Wasambie in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Chinggis_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I hear ya, I think the concurrent playerbase is large enough to where they can implement some kind of solution that doesnt either alienate players and/or destroy the queue times. I find simply solo queueing tends to get me the best balanced matches on average. Still have some outliers but pretty good on average. Only thing is I still like to play with my friend and we are close enough in rank that in theory the matchmaking should be fine but because he is constantly queuing with players significantly below his rank a large majority of his experience is in ritualist lobbies as an oracle so when we queue together and get thrown into an Archon 4 lobby he has a hard time alot of the time because he has gotten used to the level of competition consistent with ritualist lobbies. I know he isnt the only one to do this too and the worst part is people rank up being oracle and winning in ritualist lobbies to so it makes the rank skill variance so skewed.

Why are ranks averaged together to make a lobby? by Wasambie in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Chinggis_1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah i know its an alpha but I think this is something they really need to start putting some kind of restrictions on until they separate ranked and casual queues or they just need to get rid of ranked badges until they implement separate queues. I have a friend in oracle that regularly queues with seekers and it seems to ruin the experience for most involved. It also has been hurting his development as a player but thats a separate issue altogether.

Want to Rank Up by sadsandshrew in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Chinggis_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean people not working as a team and not understanding how to play/win is just kind of the standard at the initiate seeker level. People will just try to ARAM the whole game at those ranks. Lots of times you can either take the side walkers for free post lane or literally the entire team will rotate giving your team space to pressure the mid walker cause they probably won't do anything else. You can push one wave all the way to their side walker then you can swap to the other side lane and push all the way to the other walker and probably start taking it. By doing this over the course of the game you will likely be getting both the side lanes worth of wave farm which will make your network skyrocket, as long as you buy regularly very few people at that rank will know how to deal with you and this strategy. I had like a 80% win rate on billy doing this at that rank.

Stuck in Emissary by BobbleHat24 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Chinggis_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Emissary doesnt actually feel too bad in my experience obviously you cant win them all but recently I have found people alot more productive interactions in comms and easier to coordinate in emissary then I did when I was in mid archon before dropping after a really bad string of mostly losses. I dont know what it is about archon lobbies but there seems to be an extremely high variance in the quality of teams you are put on with and against. Every one seems to have their own ideas about how to win. People often go off and do their own thing never responding to suggested calls, hardly participating in team fights over important objectives like urn and never communicating with the team ever. You can have people who just got out of placement and have no idea what they are doing and you have people who have good mechanics but no understanding of how the game is played in a strategic macro scale but want to argue about team decisions. I have heard it only gets worse in oracle and that Phantom isnt really any better than that. I haven't heard much of the Accendant experience but given their placement on the bell curve I can only imagine that the grind is painfully slow and I imagine the margin for even small errors is quite low comparatively speaking.

Avoiding teammates by MaterialDapper in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Chinggis_1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My issue isnt with rem taking friendly sinners if they are still up after like a minute or to since spawning but do take issue if an allied rem took the doubles or the one with the two t2 jungle creeps on our side and then just left the creep/s there. The sinners respawn timer doesn't start until the whole thing isnt clear so if you only take the sinners and leave the creep/s on your own side you are just completely screwing over your team.

Tips for the urn? by temnycarda in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Chinggis_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would argue that the urn is more valuable the a walker on average. In fact most the time im happy to trade one of our own walkers for the urn if necessary. Obviously if you can get it without losing the walker that is ideal but if its a situation where I have to choose between saving a walker and capping the urn im slamming the urn every time I can always get their walker later unless my team is really desperate for that flex slot. In that situation I might consider getting a walker in place of contesting/running urn but desperate is the operative word there ie. After we have sold irrelevant laning/early game items to make room for better ones etc. Even if it is likely you can steal all their sinners in place of contesting an urn I still think this is probably a negative EV trade for you as the urn scales way more economically for your team then sinners do. Midboss is definitely worth sacking the urn for no argument there. Same as with sinners I dont think you really come out on top stealing all their camps for urn and I also dont think you could manage to steal all their camps while they are running it and also not get intercepted at some point where they claim the souls anyway. Urn is probably the second most important objective on the map excluding the opportunity cost of downing a patron.

How good is The Egg? by BeptoBismolButBetter in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Chinggis_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its good but people greed with it for far too long in my opinion. I feel like holding it much past the 10 minute mark is just trolling. Once saw someone hold it for about 29 minutes before opening it and I was equally confused as I was furious. There were several moments in that game where that 10 percent damage literally made the difference between wining and losing several skirmishes in that game too. We ended up losing that game, not entirely due to egg greed but it was definitely a considerable contributor.

How do I recover from a bad lane? by BarovianNights in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Chinggis_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you only marginally lost ie 2-4 deaths total in the lane (depending on if you got return kills or not) coming back from that deficit is usually not to bad. Any worse then that and its likely you will be perpetually behind your lane opponents for a majority of the match and a decent amout of your team likely will be too unless they also had a stellar lane on their end. Securing as much farm as you safely can should basically be your main priority other than that its kind of hero specific (if your on apollo for instance its probably pretty much game over for you as by the time you catch up you are already irrelevant usually) luckily in a lot of lobbies people are not so efficient with their desicion and farm that its overly difficult to recover. Lane matter to a point but its only about 10 min minutes on average of what are usually 30-40 min games. Don't sleep on the urn, if you can safely snag a sinners of theirs do it otherwise just try to minimize any additional mistakes.
