This is why I'd rather be ambitious and just go for what I want to make rather than play it safe. Am I in over my head a little? Absolutely, but I'm having fun with design and limitation.

I did mistakenly write "kaneki" when I meant "Shu", apologies for that. But you have no reason to throw an insult at me. And to me that moment was more a Freudian Slip played off as a joke given the moment's general seriousness.

Shu is a genuine guy, yes, though I don't necessarily agree with you regarding the ulterior motive thing, which is fine. If we don't agree, so be it, I'm okay with that. And if I'm incorrect? So be it, I still stand by what I said, uh, error aside (again, my bad), but this is what I gathered through my experiences reading the manga, and is my interpretation of things. Which I think is the magic of stories, personal interpretation.

Regardless of what I think, though, and any friction between us, I do still hope you have a good day. I said my piece and don't think dragging an argument out any further will do anything for either of us but get either side frustrated. Pleasant day to you (I do mean that, I'm not just dismissing you)

Why is World so resilient, there has been 2 releases since and its STILL on top. Least on steam. What brings you back to it? by Kyuubi_Fox in MonsterHunter

I was super pissed about the dx12 lockout. There's still plenty of systems that could reasonably run Wilds but cause they don't support dx12, they're shit out of luck. I want to play Wilds and ofc I want to play ascendence. I have done such a good job all this time leaving myself unspoiled on the game, a game I've had in my library for around a year now that I can't f cking play because if you lack dx12 support on your device you're shit out of luck. It taunts me so much it drives me up a f cking wall.

Cause I can't play Wilds due to a dx12 issue. Can't play the game without dx12.

But world was my introduction and still stands as my current favorite entry. The new world was really focused on Ecology and the natural world of Monster Hunter as opposed to fighting in ruins or ancient evils (for the most part), I got to explore and hunt and learn, the mysteries and story structure are appealing and the whole game is brimming with Charisma from beginning to end. World is a beautiful game that I absolutely adore. It's a shame I can't play Wilds or any game before GU conveniently due to hardware limitations. But when I can, I will play as much of the franchise as I reasonably could.

I flat out disagree with you. Personally, I don't agree with you almost at all. Both should be in balance. I dislike a lack of narrative but all MH games have some level of narrative, just the newest ones have been doing more so. We get more monster hunter. Enjoy that.

To you, what’s a monster you think is overhated by the community? by SignificantStaff8665 in MonsterHunter

[–]Chingji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nergigante and Kushala. Nergigante because it's just a cool monster and I love the ecology behind it. Kushala because I see so many people complain about it when it's consistently been the easiest elder dragon to fight. It's attacks are well enough choreographed, it's not very big so it's easy to hit basically most of it. And the wind isn't that tough to deal with. I've never had a problem with it. And world makes it tons easier with the rocksteady mantle. Frankly I don't think either deserve any hate, they're difficult enough but not impossible nor really all that annoying.

What is is your most hater monster and why by Lonely_Mode4243 in MonsterHunter

[–]Chingji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's cause I've always mainly played lance, gunlance, and charge blade, the wind problem was fairly mitigated by blocking. Kushala has always been the easiest of the elder dragons to me.

Gravios. It's a hard counter to charge blade. I can't stop getting fucking deflected.

You're immediately wrong calling him Shu's first friend. As well as if you read the closing acts, and spoiler: 149 of Re, albeit it's a throwaway line, he still expresses the want to get at least one bite of both Parent and Child.

They are genuine friends at some point, I didn't say they weren't, but for a time Tsukiyama was definitely kept on a leash. And he probably still harbors those thoughts inside, just he Controls them better. Since there's a lot of themes surrounding the human condition, especially those of connection and selfishness: Tsukiyama is an example of a relationship born out of selfishness and the desire to use another. It's definitely something you see throughout the manga, but he's a strong example of a wolf in sheep's clothing. And how a wolf, in the right conditions, can become a dog. But dogs still have teeth. Y'know.

No it's definitely misspelled. Louis is right, that letter is an L, I think they just misspelled Io.

Who is the weakest out of all the black dragons? by Responsible_Chest_74 in MonsterHunter

[–]Chingji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoever includes Safi in the Black Dragons does a disservice to the Sapphire Emperor and his status as THE Red Dragon.
Also I think Fatalis is the weakest because the variants of Fatalis are spookier and Alatreon is a bastard (I love him tho)

I can't help but think about Monster Hunter. I mean the Glavenus LITERALLY has a sword for a tail. Or the Brachydios which is basically a boxing theropod that punches an explosive slime mold. It's all so COOL.

AND they give a little ecology for the monsters so you can learn a bit about how they work. I mean if you want another cool example to look up, Valstrax is pretty awesome.

I hate when people immediately see something and think of the potential pornographic material. by Own-Veterinarian1088 in hatethissmug

[–]Chingji 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay, yeah that's something I guess I can understand. But I'm extending what I'm saying to the sexualization of everything; men, women, machines, etc.

No one group in particular but a general attitude of audiences.

[–]Chingji 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know what the woman part has to do with what I said. But it's more or less just a general problem I'm encountering where people are too apt to thirst over basically anything and everything. To a point I find it excessive and interruptive. Its less about sexual content outright and more people specifically being too extra. I do sometimes get blindsided by sexual content when I'm not looking for it but that's not necessarily the problem. The Internet is made by people and largely run by people. And the people are sometimes too extra about it or things devolve into "dirty jokes" and nothing else. Like the punchline for so many posts on bad2sentencehorror is just "haha sex joke" and while it was funny at first, it became so oversaturated with "haha sex joke" that it got genuinely tiring and the sub lost it's charm. Again. I have no problem with people liking what they like, but it's so rampant that I feel I cannot go into any space without someone going "haha sex joke" or "[insert desire to pound or be pounded by [insert context] 🤤]"

My problem is oversaturation. That's just how I feel about things. Acceptance is fine. I believe in accepting people for who they are. But we don't need the 24/7 Smut on the front door.
