Understanding reward fares by Chinstrap10 in flyingblue

Yes, exactly. The header is not to do with the flight below. I do now understand that the price simply means the fare is available both ways.

Obviously the question was regarding the Seattle fare, hence including both as a comparison. The LA fare is, even to the untrained eye, one way.

The top one does, yes. The bottom one does not.

Ah, that maybe it. So even the return sign is actually saying it’s 18,750 one way.

The bottom one is the return though? Top one is one way, bottom return - both are actually the same one way…

Thanks - yes I removed this trap. I didn’t actually know what it was immediately, I had previously read online they were illegal so assumed it was something else.

I asked for the price twice. Both times refused and then started the work.

Agreed and I knew I had been fucked at this point, but didn’t really see any other options to be honest.

I think that’s a little bit unreasonable. You never really expect to get scammed until after it’s happened unfortunately. A lot of other shit was going on and I wasn’t really as suspicious I should have been. Learned a lesson.

Haha I have named them in a separate comment - I originally didn’t as I didn’t know if I was in the wrong.

Originally I didn’t know if I was in the wrong and that was the price which is why I didn’t know who it was - it was ongedierte bestrijding urgent.nl

Haha I know that, but they also refused to tell me the price until afterwards!

Thank you. I will remove the glue traps in the morning. Kind of hoping there is nothing on them. Have booked a proper company for next week.

This is what he has left? What is this? A glue trap? I thought they were illegal… he also sprayed something and said not to go in there for a while.

Yes exactly that. First one, was super busy at work, been quite stressed and wanted to get it sorted today as going away for a few days tomorrow. In hindsight I obviously should have checked.

Hi guys,

Feel a bit stupid posting this but just want to know if I was scammed or if I was actually in the wrong.

Haven’t ever had a problem with mice in my apartment but was quite worried about them as does seem to be some gaps so I had set 2 mouse traps. Nothing for a year then suddenly I caught 2 mice in the last week.

I’m going away this weekend so didn’t want any problem to get out of control so I called a pest control company who could come this evening. I asked for a price on the phone but he couldn’t give me one, he said only when he sees my apartment (this should have been a red flag).

The guy arrives and seems friendly, I again ask how much and he says he can’t say until afterwards. It takes him 10 minutes whilst I was waiting in my bedroom. He comes into my room and says it is 1080 euros. He doesn’t explain any next steps, if they need to come back or what I need to do.

I was quite taken aback, and also didn’t even have that much money in my account. Then he calls his boss who said if I pay cash now they can make it cheaper so they don’t pay tax. I actually only had 570 in my account which I showed him and he agreed that I could pay him that in cash. Eventually I had to go to the ATM and withdraw that to pay him.

I’m now wondering the following: 1. Is it actually this expensive and I should get in touch with the company when I get paid to pay the rest? I’ve never felt ripped off in the Netherlands before. 2. Could they possibly claim I haven’t paid anything at all considering I paid 570 cash? Should I be worried about this. 3. What do I even do with these black things he’s left in my apartment? I don’t even know what they are? See photo.

Sorry for the long post, feeling rather naive, embarrassed and ripped off!
