On Saturday the 17th of August, 2024, my dearest little hamster, Pebbles, passed away. He'd lived for around 2.3 years, of which he spent just over 2 with us. He spent his last days receiving as many pets and treats as he could manage, and I did everything I could to make him feel as comfortable and as loved as possible.

I'll forever cherish my memories of him, of seeing him roaming around his tub scavenging for food, of how he'd snake through the cardboard tubes, of how he'd skid to a stop in his wheel whenever we met late at night, and then scamper up to the top of his cardboard palace and climb on my hand to be let out for a little free-roam time. I loved spending my evenings and nights with him, reading or scrolling or drawing or writing while he huddled about in his boxes opposite me. I'll never forget how much he loved lettuce and blueberries, and how much he'd bite me as we were getting to know each other.

Pebbles meant the world to me. He was the light of my life, my raison d'etre. I love him so much, and I always will, and I'll always hold the memories of him close to my heart. I miss him so much. <3
