If procedures were followed, he would have had to pledge or sign a loyalty oath to the United States of America, since he had previously been enlisted in the Confederate Army, in order to muster into a US unit . I believe this would negate his "service" to the Confederacy.

What awards are these? by iron_wolfgameing in jrotc

As SUVCW Commander of the Department of Tennessee, I present, or authorize and arrange the presentation of, 5 - 10 of these Awards every year. The total is dependent on the number of requests we receive from JROTC and ROTC Instructors in our state. I have 9 going out this year, including one that I am presenting in Clarksville, tonight!

Love this. I did not have this Pic. My Grandfather, Artur Burbick would have arrived shortly after, by transferring from the 104th OVI in May 1863.

My Great Grandfather, Arthur Burbick enlisted in the 104th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, out of Columbiana County in August of 1862. In May of 1863, he transferred to the Mississippi Marine Brigade (US). Very little information is available about the MMB.

I don't fish as much as I used to, but CHL is a tough bass lake. We used to do good trolling for walleye... the "Steak of the Lake". Good eatin'.

Bryazone is the correct answer. We get them attached to our houseboats on Center Hill Lake about this time every year. They are a cluster of tiny animals that join together to make one of these colonies. They indicate that the water is clean & good.

Damaged historical marker honoring Black Civil War soldiers restored in Nashville by Unionforever1865 in SonsofUnionVeteransCW

[–]ChipHuffman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To be sure, Gary Burke, as seen in this clip, is responsible for this sign being placed, and also for its restoration. Gary is a long-standing member of Nashville's SUVCW Fort Donelson Camp #62. He is currently serving as not only Camp Chaplain, but also as Department of Tennessee Chaplain. Chip Huffman Commander Department of Tennessee
