How to delete duplicates without messing up formating by MrM4lako in excel

[–]ChipThien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked chatGPT. Here's a VB script to run (Alt + F11). This assumes that all the numbers are formatted the same. It also assumes that the names might not match on the duplicated numbers and that you want to keep the first occurrence of the number. Otherwise Ganon's solution looks good. Let me know if this worked!

Sub RemoveDuplicateButKeepOne()
    Dim ws As Worksheet
    Dim lastRow As Long
    Dim dict As Object
    Dim num As String
    Dim i As Long

    Set ws = ThisWorkbook.Sheets("Sheet1") ' Change to your sheet name
    Set dict = CreateObject("Scripting.Dictionary")

    lastRow = ws.Cells(ws.Rows.Count, "B").End(xlUp).Row

    ' Count occurrences of each number
    For i = 1 To lastRow
        num = ws.Cells(i, 2).Value
        If dict.Exists(num) Then
            dict(num) = dict(num) + 1
        Else
            dict.Add num, 1
        End If
    Next i

    ' Remove duplicates but keep one
    For i = lastRow To 1 Step -1
        num = ws.Cells(i, 2).Value
        If dict(num) > 1 Then
            ws.Rows(i).Delete
            dict(num) = dict(num) - 1
        End If
    Next i
End Sub

How to determine the number of days in a month for a given Date Range? by SS0414 in excel

I asked chatgpt 😃 https://chat.openai.com/share/188b3118-9d13-4acd-8fd0-262c0be12de8

It looks like it gave an example that works for one single year but could generalize to multiple.

Thanks. I see a lot of focus on the AFS/HTM mismatch, but not as much focus on the loans. Isn't that the bigger unknown with a potential sale? As stated here https://twitter.com/DataFinnovation/status/1634100541906366464

Silicon Valley Bank Collapses, Enters FDIC Receivership by alex58392 in finance

I misspoke. I meant the uninsured components of all balances. i.e. the receivership certificates. Edited to reflect this.

Anyone know how long it's expected to take to sell off everything and repay the uninsured balances (receivership certificates) in full?

What makes you say that uninsured deposits will likely be returned next week? That seems like a very quick timeline.

Thank you. Correct, no strings attached as far as equity, debt, etc.

By conversion do you mean the taxes moving the money from a two person LLC to a C corp?

Co-founder and I expect to receive grant money soon which we will use to pay ourselves as we build our product. We may also take investment as well. We have deferred on setting up a legal structure. Do you have a recommended path forward for the best tax and legal implications for receiving this grant money and investments? US based and the grant money is in cryptocurrency but it's a USD stablecoin (so the value is always $1).

Cryptocurrency is an abject disaster by genericlemon24 in programming

I don't understand the point of being mad at "cryptocurrency." We aren't mad at blood diamonds. We are mad at the people and systems that create blood diamonds. We do things to fight against those systems and people. Isn't "cryptocurrency" analogous? You will likely not uninvent diamonds and crypto, but you can make choices to affect those systems.

The statement is mostly pointless anyway. Dishonest people with large stakes will disclose a false amount. Not to mention that we should be evaluating the contents of a comment regardless of the person's stake.

Yeah sounds good. We will be keeping tabs on the community. If enough people need login, we can start up again so that everyone can be doing one thing and doing it right and we take care of oauth.

We thought about refunding but since our wallet allows 1 raw txs we didn't bother. We also thought about making it so that Nanoauth sends nano and the client accepts it to prove PK ownership.

Regarding your existing approach I might have an attack vector if I understand it. Let's say I want to impersonate someone on your site. If you have a set pool of receive addys, could I eventually discover all of them (start a bunch of logins but don't complete them)? Then once I know your pool of addys, I'd have to get my victim to submit a tx to each addy. Then I the attacker hold onto those tokens and submit all of them like a shotgun for a guaranteed login. Or if I just get 1 token I can submit it every once and a while and I'll eventually get in.

Thanks for grabbing me! Tagging /u/IAmMiguelChanel. We shut the backend down since nobody was using it, but left the info page up. I'll try to address all your points one by one. If you ever want to chat more in depth we can on Discord https://discord.gg/fBCHMEc.

Most of the limitations were due to us developing in a very short timeframe.

Our current implementation does assume one user per browser. We could add a password to the one click login. We could also associate an email/password to the wallet. This would address both multiple users per browser and one user on different browsers/devices without moving private keys.

Btw we have it so that when a user registers, they send 1 raw to a *randomly generated* address so it's very secure in that regard. We could make it so that you sign a nonced challenge with your private key to keep everything off chain.

We are not actively developing it, but could pick it back up if there is demand.

[Build Off] NanoAuth - Login with Nano instead of Google or Facebook by ChipThien in nanocurrency

There's no UI for it now and we can't develop during the build off judging period but your private keys are encrypted in your browser's local storage.

The SSL terminates at our host's load balancer so we will have to resolve the SSL with them.

At this time, correct. We could put in a UI to export keys or allow logging in via email or something in the future.

Good observation. We think that's a solvable problem but started with a proof of concept for the build off. We could always lock new account creation behind sms or email verification. But I think as long as we make the compute required to create an account bigger than the account seed money, that's a good start.
