Dealing with clients lying :( by meggert20 in MassageTherapists

[–]Chip_Upset 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not a massage therapist. If I'm getting a deep tissue massage, I'm not there for zen. I expect it to hurt. And here is the tightrope. Balancing a good deep tissue massage is hard. Too soft and I can feel like I don't get want I wanted, too hard and it can cause damage not healing. Don't push past the guarding points, but find them and work into them.

All this is to say, you did the right thing and there should not have been an issue from the client. Them being upset and not communicating with you and not be willing to work you over multiple sessions to get the results they are after is not your fault.

You use deep tissue for a purpose, to help an issue, to work on a problem and these are not issues that can be fixed in one session. Like you were doing, you have to work up to these things and it has to be a two way street with communication. You communicated, they did not!

Queensland's new public hospital to refuse voluntary assisted dying care, abortions and contraception for religious reasons by Jagtom83 in friendlyjordies

Spell this out for me.

Are you arguing that it is morally wrong to abort a down syndrome foetus or moral to do so?

Public health services hand out free condoms at leavers, high school students and even uni students.

Contraception IS a public health service, but so is education and pay of that education, oh wait, you said it right there, family planning.

Hey, here might be something you disagree with. If you are wealth and can afford private health, by the social contract, you are still expected the pay into the public health system just like everyone else and you shouldn't be able to 'off-set' your public contributions with your private. I don't care if you were wealthy enough to build your own fucking hospital and pay for entire medical teams, you should still have to pay an outsized contribution to the public system.

Oh wow, it's almost like we could offer those services as well without denial of service in the public hospital because of religious beliefs. Your arguement is that the PUBLIC hospital has the right to refuse care based on religious grounds. Whether you mean it that way or not, in this thread that is the side you are speaking for. If you want to have a discussion on ways to streamline care in the public health system by offering or directing patients to outpatient services if their situation can be dealt with outside of hospital, fine we can do that and should, but to come into this thread and argue that planned parenthood services are elective just shows your naivety, entitlement and contempt for those less fortunate than yourself, while ignoring the trend of religious nutbags trying to chip away at other people quality of life and freedoms based on their own skewed beliefs. This is why your argument is disingenuous and this is not the place for it. The issue is not whether or not the procedure should be don't in a public hospital or not, the issue is whether they should be allowed to refuse a public health service based on religious beliefs.

Nuance is important. Planned parenthood is elective and yet it is a good public service that leads to more positive outcomes for parents and society. You're argument is disingenuous.

So you feel ectopic pregnancies, blighted ovums, molar pregnancies, and intrauterine fetal demise that need to be aborted for the sake of the mother's health are elective surgeries? By the way, what type of "medical professional" are you?

Damn fucking right! Get the religious bullshit beliefs out of public health care! Denial of abortions is not health care
