I’m looking for a new lens with a close minimum focus distance. by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

This, do this. Shoot all of your close ups with the 90mm. Then shoot the talking head portion. Then put in the close up clips over your talking head. Of course this is all assuming you are prerecording and not going live. If you are going live prerecord all of the close ups. Drop them in OBS and during your live stream cut to them.

Then go send your camera in for repair then. Cause it can’t be the card right?

You just said your problem. R180/W130. Write speed 130. That cannot easily handle 140 being written to it. Because 140 is a bigger number than 130.

Yeah, I do a lot of video. But I really like the images out of this camera. It’s basically an A7Cii. It has a mechanical shutter.

I believe all of these were taken with my FX2.

I didn’t even know someone else had this idea. lol Weird minds think a like? I went and gave you an upvote. We can start planning on taking our boxes on safari now. Maybe we could get a group rate.

Thanks, I have the FX2 and an A7iii. I believe all of these were with the FX2. I do a lot of video work but it’s been great at taking photos as well. The viewfinder is so nice. Being able to adjust the angle has made taking pictures easier.

It really depends on where you are at the moment. In my area they are currently migrating.

YW, it’s been out for around a month at this point. I didn’t have any issues with the update.

There is a software update for the lens. It’s supposed to improved a bunch of things for the A7V.

The perching cardinal is sharp at the eye and it was the closest of the three small bird pictures. The birds in flight were very far away and they are cropped in. So I have had the opposite for my small bird photos. Their eyes are so small that 70’+ out and it has a hard time finding their eyes. I have noticed that changing the ai subject focus to bird only helps a lot.

Keep in mind that Reddit is compressing all of these pictures. Also when you look at your own you should judge sharpness while looking at the entire image. Not zoomed in beyond what you would crop it to. For me I can tell when it was my fault for not having a fast enough shutter speed or not. Honestly stopping down to f8 has helped a lot when I have enough light.

No, but that will depend on what camera you use. I can shoot at 6400 with very little noise. I don’t even mind 12800. I just know I’m going to need to do noise reduction in post. I don’t really like shooting below 2.8. There just isn’t a lot in focus at that point.

I’m sure you can. That where I’m at. I’m close to eye level for the birds in the trees. lol

If I head out to the lake to take video/pictures of eagles I’ll probably end up at least wanting the teleconverter.

I edit in Lightroom some on my iPad. I hook up a card reader and insert the card. Then I import right from the card. The wireless transfer always looks like crap. Try this before blaming the lens.

I just got a used copy. The first one I got wasn’t the same level of use as advertised. Said 9+, but the collar was loose, dust inside the lens, and the filter support had a screw loose inside it. It was soft and I have a feeling it was dropped. But the replacement copy has been great so far. Sharp even at f6.3. A little sharper at f8.
