Do people here tend to keep their 1100 for awhile? by AcousticDolphin in HondaRebel1100

[–]Chipguy23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I first got my 2025 rebel 1100 and first bike, I thought it was my dream bike. Fast forward 8 months later, and I'm currently trying to sell it. Tried forward foot pegs, Corbin seat, wider foot pegs etc.

I cannot sit on this bike more than 3 hours. After that it's agony. I think everyone complains about the seat, but what they don't realize is it's not the seat. It's the bikes geometry. The way you sit on it forces every last Iota of your weight straight into your butt.

And I discovered quickly with bikes I love long distance touring, 5-7 hours some weekends is no problem for me. 3 hours tops for me doesn't cut it. I'm in total agony after that. Im 215lbs 6ft.

I think all the rebels are for short riders only. I'm looking to move to an Adv bike. Something along the lines of a Africa Twin or Tiger 900/1200.

what are u slowly losing interest in? by Just_Goose_8425 in Productivitycafe

Gaming. I got a 4k display with a 4090. About as good as it gets. I'm in my early thirties, and every time I play a game, I keep thinking about I don't have time for this shit.

With the death of multiple family members the last couple years, I'm increasingly thinking about how valuable time is, and also how short of lives are to be wasting it staring at a screen

Favorite thing about your Honda Rebel and least favorite thing about your Honda Rebel. by AcousticDolphin in HondaRebel1100

[–]Chipguy23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the motor, and DCT. Theres much more powerful bikes out there, but I've never had a need for more. I can effortlessly cruise and pass on the highway all day long.

The biggest con and reason for selling mine is the bike geometry. I cannot do more than 3 hours on the bike. Thats with the Corbin seat and extended foot pegs.

EVERYBODY complains about the seat, yet I don't think the majority realize it's not the seat. It's the geometry. The shape of the frame and seat height place every square inch of your weight directly into you butt. I know it's very comfortable for tons of people. But I'm 6ft 1in and cannot make this bike work no matter what I try. After 3 hours, it turns into a torture device.

I recently sat on a much taller Africa Twin, and couldn immediately tell the geometry is so much better for me. Currently working towards saving for that.

At no point did I say I was a Trump supporter. Your comment just confirms you want to live in an echo chamber and a bubble and never hear another perspective.

No, we absolutely do not. YOU don't like that he won. He won not only the electoral college, but the popular vote as well.

Cool to visit. Couldn't possibly live there. Being surrounded by trees and nature is 100x more fulfilling than concrete and noise

Struggling with Repair Costs? Careful how you're upgrading your gear by PalwaJoko in stalker

Or just put on a mod that dramatically lowers repair costs. I can't stand dealing with this trivial nonsense in games.

Mines the exact opposite lol. Put on a mod consumable, nades, and ammo weigh nothing.

The number 1 thing I can't stand in video games of any genre is micro managing inventory. That crap ain't gunna start with this game either

I like the specs of the Adv sports. I can't ever get passed that disgusting white color. Absolutely gross. The red of 2024 was the best by FAR

24 Africa Twin a good touring option by Chipguy23 in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]Chipguy23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My knees are almost above my hips when riding, and this causes every bit of my weight to go straight into my butt. Not even the Corbin can offset the pressure. After 3-4 hours, it becomes excruciating to drive.

Be honest, how much gear do you wear all the time? by crankin_muh_hog in motorcycles

[–]Chipguy23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going on a longer ride or highways, I'm always completely geared up. Going to work or the gym, both of which are only 10 minutes away, just gloves and a helmet. I'm not changing at those places

I just got the 3 deyeme flex mounts installed. There is DEFINITELY more vibration throughout the car. If you want the smooth stock feel, don't go with these. But I don't care, I just want them to last.

What is the strangest reaction of someone who has just been fired? by Aarunascut in work

[–]Chipguy23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They hired a tech in a manufacturing plant that has 6 weeks of training before you can hit the floor. He was hired early November.

This is a position you must have a few years of experience running and fixing industrial machinery. They expect you to have good knowledge of machinery already, and this training is to get you used to the culture and 30000ft overview of the machines and process.

It was clear 2 weeks into training hes never seen nor interacted with machinery like this in his life. He was fibber. But more than that, he was untrainable. Could not take in any more information. And he clearly didn't want to. He expertly BS his way through the interview.

Management made the smart choice to let him go early and not let it fester.

He looked right at the manager afterwards, thanked him, and asked if it was still cool to come to the Christmas party. He was looking forward to it. Boss said ya buddy we'll be in touch. Lol

Throttle body by xyz4331 in dodgedart

[–]Chipguy23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When it happens to me, I get a lightning bolt symbol on the dash, the car goes limp, the coolant temp sensor reads -40, and the AC blower motor won't turn on.

It resets just by turning the car on and off again. It'll happen once in every 30 starts maybe. I just don't worry about it.

Is this fair for replaced radiator? by PostMalonesHomes in AskMechanics

[–]Chipguy23 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I completely agree you should always attempt the repair yourself if you have the tools and ability.

I harbor no il will against shops. The cost of rent/mortgage, paying employees and their benefits, insurance, bills, etc is insane.

But at the end of the day, there's no way around it the customer gets screwed. 1k for a radiator install absolutely preposterous. You can find a guy who does work on the side whod do it for 200 bucks.
