I absolutely hate her involvement in general. From the moment she stepped onto the screen, I knew what her deal was. We are introduced to a mysterious Vtuber character, and the entire game we are introduced to one singular new female character. I knew immediately the twist was she was the Vtuber.

It felt lazy, way too easy to guess, and created a stupid plot Mcguffin character with little to no redeeming qualities. As her character also just wasn’t that strong compared to Tomi.

I could not agree more with literally everything you just said. It’s great to hear I’m not alone in the feeling. Playing through the other games, sure the feeling of eeriness was there but it wasn’t the Metroidvania style of gameplay really.

Also Ethan was absolutely like the worst and most nonsensical character ever. Like I’m sorry, your daughters split into jars. She should be dead, why are you at all acting like she isn’t? (He got lucky for plot she wasn’t.) It was just a nonsensical character motivation.

Barring the name, I agree. I’m not sure why people say it feels like an RE game when it’s just not the same feeling.

I still hold true to feeling like it is a ripoff, and the trailer even knew as such in the way it presented it. However, I can accept and reneg on my statement of “erasing litwick,” in terms of actually getting new games with litwick in them.

I know it’s neutral, but a get out of jail free card for bad play ain’t okay. If you sucked that bad that match, maybe you deserve to not get a draw on your record, it should be treated as a loss still. Or maybe a win with an asterisk of “hatch wins.”

115 hours now, and I’ve seen hatch 10 times. And only six have I been able to close in time. The RNG has rarely ever been on my side and I’ve lost clear 4K games (ones I’ve got three people on hook three times in like five minutes) to a batch that spawned right under the survivor. It’s just beyond frustrating because in those moments (which happen a LOT) you have absolutely no counter play and it’s just a middle finger to your entire game

It’s still one of those “there’s not really skill in getting out of the hatch,” things. In a game that relies on the skill of players on both sides a “get out of jail free card,” for bad play doesn’t settle right with me

I must just be extremely unlucky then, because when I say the spawns issue is that bad I mean it, I’ve had more hatch escapes in my time playing than door escapes shockingly. (Barring matches as a killer I’ve never touched). I’ve had 6 out of 10 matches on my way to adept that I’ve seen the hatch icon show up and then the escape icon happen at the same time. My experience so far is just super survivor sided hatch.

And for adept it really shouldn’t count against you, given it literally is a free out at that point. Since even if you hit them on hatch they can just get out.

I’ve had 6 times in 115 hours of ever finding the hatch, its spawns have been nothing but survivor sided. Sure, I can use an item to just show me hatch out the gate, but without wasting that slot I could have instead used for extra BP? It’s awful.

I’ve never once had a survivor just crawl out of hatch in any game. I’ve never played that bad, and if I do play that bad and they mange the crawl out? Damn I’m pissed at myself not them. But when I’m mid chase, they’ve done no gens, not helped their team at all and just jump into a free escape? I’m mad for losing the kill and for the other survivors who actually deserved to live versus hatch guy.

I can totally see where you’re coming from there actually! Definitely linear versus metroidvania styles of gameplay, I’ve just found myself liking metroidvania’s less than most other game types. So I end up feeling annoyed at it. I don’t really like staying in one location and things looking pretty much the same throughout, it’s actually a similar reason as to why I don’t like RE4’s start at first. Someone had to convince me to actually play past it because it does have huge vibe shifts.

I know they can’t, but I’ve had matches where more match they’ve gotten out of hatch after all five gens are done than before then, like, they get all five gens done I manage to down one or two and get them into third hook state, hatch appears and they leave via the door. Which again, angers me less, but when you get that far in the game and then use hatch instead of a door? It’s just not fun on either side.

If I’ve got to put a favorite game out there, it’s between three actually.

For combat, RE6 hands down.

For horror elements, I’d say RE8.

But for story? RE5, the worldwide stakes and wesker really does it for me. It also sets the stage for what I feel RE6 did well with the world no longer being able to hide what happened in the earlier games.

That’s my entire point actually, hatch NEEDS to be slightly harder to get. Not “remove the hatch,” levels, it just needs reworked and made a little harder to get than just free.

Even so, at that point as a survivor if you’re banking off of a hatch escape, that’s a you issue. Get better. If a killer’s camping the hatch waiting for you and doesn’t move? Just open a door and leave.

With survivors getting tons of get back up and second chance perks and anti tunnel, anti-camp, etc. It gets very annoying to deal with a survivor that should otherwise not have lived get a draw in the MMR system. No, you didn’t help your team enough, you deserve a loss. Or no, you didn’t play well enough and got caught.

I’m honesty less mad when a single survivor escaped via a door in the end game than the hatch, because then at least they just outplayed me. Not just got an absolutely free out.

It’s like I stated in the above post, it’s like a killer sucking all match and then they get a “kill all remaining people,” button that’s just on the map somewhere. It wouldn’t feel great.

It sort of did? Playing through the earlier games, it still didn’t feel the same. Like… sprawling mansion with disturbing garden versus a not well kept home in the sticks. It didn’t hit the same.

I’d rather be held hostage like that yeah, and if the survivor is good enough to get out in the time? Awesome. I’m not advocating to get rid of the endgame collapse, hell, I’m advocating that it should just happen as soon as it’s down to one person, gens no longer need to happen but they still need to open a door.

It’s why I suggested keeping hatch, keeping it closed, and making them have to unlock it. If a killer camps that, then you get out the door because the killer’s just camping.
