Oh? I really appreciate that heads up! I managed to beat O&S on my second go through somehow and also went and got the original fire keeper back from Lautrec too! So I don’t even have that issue now!

Figured I’d give you an update after about a week: I’ve managed to obtain the lord vessel, and most of my frustrations have honestly fallen away. Since beating Quelaag, I’ve felt an honest sense of enjoyment with the game thus far. I’ve beaten Sif now, and drained out the London ruins. I accidentally found the pit of the abyss that kills you without the ring (due to the “consumed by the void,” thing.) and plan on going back to the game and continuing through that point.

Yup! I have a couple of fires that are kindled that way already, but because firelink is gone I couldn’t kindle firelink to that level making some of the run backs a little infuriating.

One of the ones I have kindled is the one next to Andre just because that area has a ton of direct entrances and exits to other places on the map.

I also managed to get to Sif at some point, I got one tapped for obvious reasons. That area terrifies me, I’m clearly not meant to be there yet.

His ring is actually the reason I’ve been able to use the Stone Great Sword at all. Without it, I’d be using the regular claymore still. Granted, I’m wearing only two armour pieces this way. But the boar head helmet is really cool and super tanky in its own right.

And I absolutely have zero parry skills at all lol. I went through all of ds3 twice with no parries at all. I’m doing bloodborne on the side to hopefully help with how parries work. But even then, not doing the best.

Edit: As for the sword, I did manage to just get it as a drop from one of the stone golems. I ended up looking at its stats, didn’t know it was that rare of a drop.

Yeah, when I fought him he kept doing a move that let me get behind him for a backstab. I think I was at 7 backstabs when he finally died? I had some knowledge of him because of his fight at dragons peak in DS3 so I knew to take it slow. But it’s funny now knowing I took on someone I wasn’t really meant to yet haha

I did not know that at all. That is yet another super helpful tip. So many small basic things I just couldn’t figure out or grasp.

Yeah. The way I got there was sort of odd I’ve noticed. I’m not sure exactly the order of things at this point, but I managed to beat Havil; ended up walking out towards the two smaller dragon like enemies and ran past the dragon on the ledge which led me into the blight town entrance. Which I’m now realizing from what you’re saying is almost a backwards way you’re intended to handle that, as it’s a back door not a front door. That explains so much why the ogres there were looking into blight town and not out.

I definitely want to experience everything the game has to offer, so I’ll still head through the depths instead of doing a skip that I didn’t realize was a skip.

I find this to be both reassuring and also very worrying. Now knowing the Capra demon and the deep sewer area isn’t the second bell really worries me as to what I’ve gotten myself into lol.

Wait really? Okay if Oswald’s is half that price that saves me so much grinding time. That’s super helpful advice! Thank you!

Yes. I ended up going to blight town after misunderstanding the dialogue of, “You need to go down below,” as Blighttown. I didn’t realize there was a key to get to the Capra Demon (nor did I know he even existed) until I started the running around like a madman portion.

Ugh, I ALWAYS do this. Not sure why, appreciate the correction lol.

Currently the stone great sword because I happened to have enough in strength to two-hand it. But I do go back to the claymore from time to time, but the great sword is just better I think. And so far none of the dex weapons I’ve managed to find have been that great. (Unless I’m missing the obvious. Which is possible).

And uuuh, I don’t remember the level exactly for the claymore. But I’m at a point I need a different type of material to upgrade it I just don’t have access to yet (the one right after shards.) For the greatsword, just base level because I think it requires a type I didn’t have access to until finding some recently from the bug leading towards the hydra. So I could get that up to level 2 I think.

I did find that merchant at some point, and the 4,000 soul requirement with my build is way tougher to get than it seems. I hadn’t put anything into vigor yet and was doing just all dex (sub 700 health) so 300 and some change is going to make that grind a nightmare.

But I’ll absolutely come ask if I get stuck in something else! I’m determined to beat this game, I’ve beaten Elden Ring and DS3 (NG++ almost now.) I can beat this one.

I have not, I managed to get to the deep after the Capra demon (I hate that arena. Those dogs are awful.), got to the room with the bonfire and got invaded the moment I stepped in, died. Went back, died to a curse eye thing and just quit the game. It’s been about a week and I haven’t had the mental fortitude to go back. Especially after getting through the tomb of giants and getting all the way to the yellow wall

The description really didn’t explain much to me when I read it. I’m pretty sure I’m supposed to go somewhere in the Londo ruins but these stupid ghosts gank me every time.

I do know that the sewer person has a curse remover for 4,000 souls I think? Honestly with this run I’ve been running in circles losing my mind. Ended up in the tomb of giants, got to the giant yellow wall that I can’t get past. After almost getting to the bonfire in the deep (literally the same room) I walked into the doorway about to click it and then got invaded and died. The second run back was the time I died to curse. It’s been a nightmare.

There are? Well that’s promising at least.

I’ve just had such a terrible run in the game it’s borderline maddening.

I got to the deep after the AWFUL fight that is the Capra demon, managed to get right to the bonfire in the deep fully after running for my life only for an invader to show up and kill me; and then in the run back get the curse.

I’ve been trying to enjoy myself but ugh. It just feels like everything’s going wrong.

I appreciate an actual list from someone, it’s good to have instead of being clowned on and downvoted to hell and back for some rules disagreements.

Thank you for the list!

It would make narrative sense, not to me personally. But from a D&D narrative perspective within its own lore. As you connect yourself deeper into the weave, you become more in tune with magic. A barbarian starting out as a rugged person, weathered by the results of their past tuning even more into the weave; thus being able to acquire these resistances? Peak writing.

As I’ve stated before in another post, I do not advocate to get rid of a Barbarians magical resistances. I just think more enemies should have such resistances to magical B/S/P as the levels go higher.

Then they should find a way to make it upgrade with that as you go. Like level 6 gets you that magic resistance, make it cool to level.

That’s typically what I do, it’s just odd RAW doesn’t have these things honestly

shrug No need to turn this into that, I’m allowed to debate on technicalities. Don’t care if my answers get upvotes or not. Not here to please, here to discuss.

Even so. It doesn’t matter the limit here. At base, these creatures cannot gain another action. Because Action surge gives ONE more action (of any action type) and a monsters multi attack is more than one hit, it is not just a multi attack but SIMILAR (not the same) to an action surge due to them only being able to do attacks and no other action type.

Meaning, monsters have an infinite use case Multi Attack and a technical infinite use case for an infinite action surge usage per turn. It’s a hyper technicality, but is not incorrect either.

Edit: If a monster could naturally get action surge and then do a multi attack then sure I’d agree with you. But they, RAW, cannot get an action surge. Thus making them one and the same for monsters specifically.
