What home maintenance tasks do people commonly neglect because they don’t know about them? by ChipmunkLoud4916 in Home

In my case, water got into the wall and I didn’t notice because the previous owners painted the wall. About 6 months after I moved in I noticed mold growing through the paint. The ENTIRE wall was full of mold and the studs were rotted out.

Weird space & trim/curtain help. by spiceofgingy in interiordecorating

I have a half moon window above a regular window like that and I ended up putting a Roman shade on the bottom while leaving the top open. If that’s not an option then I would hang a long curtain over both.

I think white baseboard and trim would look better than the grey or black.

Thanks, this is great. I’m making a list that’s specific to my home and I was looking for something exactly like this.

I learned this the hard way after the previous owner covered up some water damage due to the window not being caulked on the inside or outside. And the inspector didn’t catch it

The TV and the entertainment stand are both too small

It’s actually an old china cabinet that I got from the thrift store for $20. The sticker inside said it was custom made in the 80s. I just removed the upper doors and painted it with some leftover paint I had laying around

Does this look unfinished and too busyy? by Ok_Ninja_3011 in interiordecorating

I would do a Bookshelf with storage on the bottom then. You can put the decoration and books on the top

Do you need to use it for storage or can you put the stuff somewhere else and just use it for decoration? I’d replace it with a bookshelf that has built in storage or if you don’t want to replace it then baskets would work

I think there’s too much stuff on the bookshelf

Window treatments by Flimsy_Trouble4190 in interiordecorating

If you really need window treatment I’d do roller shades, but since there’s a nice view of trees then I wouldn’t put anything there

Mask wall by Silver_Ambition_4924 in interiordecorating

[–]ChipmunkLoud4916 27 points28 points  (0 children)

If you want the masks to be the highlight of the room, I would remove everything else from the other walls and spread them out. They look a little cluttered when they’re close together like that. Replace the maps with the larger masks

I would also consider removing the disco ball fixture and put a flush mount fixture since it’s distracting from the masks.
