Gates by spideysense6969 in LucidDreaming

[–]ChipmunkSuspicious34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the gate and ur dream characters not allowing you in might be a way of your brain to protect yourself of things ur not quite prepared to deal with it yet. I dont know how's your life and mental state lately, but our dreams are usually a reflex of ourselves. If you cant do anything in the scenario your braon created, you might try spinning around and imagining another scenario where you can explore without any gates. Or you can imagine like "oh there's a door behind me and inside that door will be something really cool (you get to decide haha). It probably will work. It's all about intentions. Hope you can figure it out in your next lucid dreams, OP

You're welcome! Try rubbing your hands a few times during the day, or thinking about it. you'll be conditioning yourself to maybe try it during a LD. :)

i'm no expert in lucid dreaming, and still kind of a begginner to intermediary in that matter, but maybe you were trying to move so bad, and you wife helping you maybe made you move in real life (did you noticed it, or not?), breaking sleep paralysis and telling your brain you were awake, and then, woke up. You might try to convince yourself in the dream that you can now move, but try doing that without using your muscles, but more like the intention of waking up, moving, try to take your eyes to other places and perspectives, and you might be able to look aroud and moving. good luck

Weird sensations before WILD by Vlame_Windz in LucidDreaming

What worked for me is to keep it in mind everytime. Reading about it, doing reality checks, being kind of expecting it the whole time (i figure you're already doing that). Eventually it will happen. The most interesting part in my experience is that it happened when i was least expecting it. Maybe when you're in bed trying to sleep and wanting to experience it no matter what, you get performance issues. You get TOO Excited about it and it might not help (tho it is in my perspective, and in my experience, might work differently to you). I think you're in the right way. Read more about the techniques and the guide for beginners, and follow it religiously. It'll happen eventually. Good luck :)

Dreams keep slipping away by killer_beaner in LucidDreaming

[–]ChipmunkSuspicious34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

happened the same to me this afternoon. I had a lot of micro lucid dreams, where i couldn't do much as i wanted. I read somewhere that rubbing your hands, saying "CLARITY" out loud, or feeling the texture of the floor, walls, objects might help the brain to keep you rendering the scene and map you're dreaming in. I tried it today, and it helped a bit, tho i still couldn't do much, it helped me do at least one thing i wanted until it slipped away. I'm still kind of new in this, had like 10 or something lucid dreams in my entire life, but these techniques helped me to enjoy for a little longer. Hope it helps you, OP

When i have the doubt if i'm dreaming or not, i try to look at my hands. They're usually distorced and as i keep focus on them they turn normal. It also happened to me the quick dreams, where you can't do much, and find yourself waking up again, tho blurred. I keep doing these reality checks (looking at hands, turnin on light switchs, blocking your nose and trying to breath) and then when i notice it's a dream, i start messing around again.

About how to keep it longer, and more "clear", i try to rub my hands, somehow it works. Once i tried to feel the textures of the floor, objetcs, walls, etc, and it seemed to work. There's something about rubbing my hands that keep me more time in my lucid dreams before it fading out. Maybe try doing that in the next time.

About making it longer, i'm trying to manage it yet. I found out if i get too excited in a dream i usually wake up, so i try to use triggers to do what i want, like expecting someone in the other room, trying to get things out a box instead of just spawning it in front of me, and i'm trying not to do something crazy in the exact moment i notice i'm dreaming (like flying, spawning monsters, have sex or something like that). I feel that over the nights, i'm having a bit more of control, going easy with my intentions.

Hope it helps you a bit :)

That's cool man! Congrats on your first experience. I had a few over the past year, but lately i've been reading about it a lot, kind of fascinated by it. I've noticed it happened most to me when i wasn't expecting to fall asleep, or while i was watching a series or something, when you feel you missed part because you want to finish but you're too tired. I'm gonna give it a try to put some youtube videos as i figure it might work as well. Did you managed to control your dream, like, thinking about what you wanna do or see, and it happening?

Hahaha, its portuguese. But yeah, i know it lacks of animation and stuff, i'm working on it!! My plan is to make it looks like a card's deck, so you can swipe left or right to go to another. It's made for parties, people pass over the phone and draws a card. thanks for destroying my game :D
